It’s an old hotel and a bit dated but very clean and has a nice feel. Very comfortable overall. Restaurant and bar have been nicely refurbished. Food is good as is the drinks selection. Efficient check in and check out.

The golf trip i organise has been staying here for the last 6 years. This year was the first time we've been disappointed. I always book this trip nearly 12 months in advance. Booking the courtyard rooms that meet a golfing parties needs perfectly. Your golf travel confirmed these rooms had been booked however, on arrival some of the party were put in the main building which they found to be too hot, shower not working properly, very noisy and had difficulties sleeping. On the plus side the breakfast is good and the location is excellent.

Friendly and helpful staff . Good location surrounded by wonderful snowdonia hills close to coast . The hotel itself is very out of date and rooms basic. The bar area has had a makeover and the food is ok . Has covered parking . Fine for one night .

No bar open after 11 at hotel and told we would have to take the drinks we had to buy at local shop outside into the rain into the beer garden. I would have thought a hotel would have late bar for residents at least until 1am? Breakfast was okay but had 1 pot of coffee between 4 and coul have been more on the full breakfast.

We have stayed at the Royal Sportsman for at least six year's. We are group off golfers sometimes 7 or 8. The hotel caterers fantastically for all our needs, even if we have played in the rain we can put our gear in the boiler room and it's all dry for the next day . Always found everyone very friendly helpful and we will be back next year.

The only issue we encountered was that we booked a 9am tee time at Abersoch which was 35 mins away from the hotel. Unfortunately, breakfast didn't start till 8am, so we are able to a bowl of cereal and a cup of tea but that was it. We were all surprised to hear breakfast was only available from 8am onwards.

Absolute disgusting room, black mould all over bathroom, constant smell.

The rooms were very small with basic facilities. Walls were thin and we were conscious of our neighbours. The breakfasts were acceptable but there were mistakes with food accuracy. We didn’t always get what we ordered.

Breakfast choice was spot on, and of great quality and taste

Comfortable room after having to change as the incorrect room was given at the start of the stay. No problems, breakfast was a little over cooked but in all it was ok. Could do with a little more milk in the room that is provided as one is not enough for one cuppa. All in all, a good pleasant stay and would certainly stay there again. There were just these few minor issues.

Despite being an hours drive from the golf course (no fault of hotel) nice little village with lots of little cafes & shops to explore. Staff very pleasant. Rooms in need of modernisation however bar and restaurant really nice. Good food and decent pint.

Great place to stay . Rooms were good , breakfast was lovely and dinner was excellent. Just make sure you book dinner early as it was booked up on our first night . Perfect base for north Wales.

Not a bad little hotel this. Very dated and rooms abit on the small side but the bar and food make up for it plenty. Staff very accomodating aswell during difficult times.

Great place, second time I've stayed and will be doing it again in the future. Breakfast and meals are very good and the staff a pleasure to deal with. One little niggle the bar is expensive it's almost 1/2 price at the pub across the rd but it's worth staying there for the covered car park alone.

A good honest 3 star establishment. Bar can be very busy at times & closes at 11pm
