Alamos Golf Course is one of the most recent additions to the vast number of incredible courses in the Algarve region. It is beautifully blended into the rolling landscape and provides a fantastic test for golfers of all abilities. The holes weave through the hills and flow across the terrain, creating undulating greens and fairways which require a great deal of accuracy.
This incredible layout affords golfers striking views of the Monchique Mountains, offering a unique test and challenge compared to other Algarve courses. Together with the Morgado and Salgados, Alamos is part of the delightful triumvirate of golf courses that make for the ultimate tour for those based in the awesome town of Portimao, where Morgado Golf & Country Club is the top place to stay.

The 6,600 yard layout was formulated by the highly regarded European Golf Design association, and while the course is relatively open from the tee, its large greens are extremely tricky. The enormous putting surfaces are noted for their severe slopes, and are guarded by treacherous bunkers.
The raised greens play havoc with club selection, while Alamos is also punctuated with a number of hazardous water features; in fact, the course is formulated around three large lakes, which provide both excitement and aesthetic beauty. Alamos has received much praise in its short time on the Algarve, and is a real pleasure to enjoy during a holiday in this golfing paradise.
Signature Hole: Hole 9, Par 3, 190 yards, SI 11
The par 3 9th hole is indicative of the test it presents, with a small but undulating green surrounded by tricky mounding and hazards.

Unfortunately the buggies we had reserved were not available and we had a hassle to eventually get 4 out of the 6 we reserved which cost me a lot of time pre round and I ended having to walk and the it rained heavily all the way through the back 9 and I just about made it round with 4 of our group giving up. Staff on reception were helpful though and it's a very good course.

A fairly new course, fairly open and forgiving. Course condition was good, a pleasure to play. A couple of the Greens were a bit "Scabbie" but overall pretty good.

Location is a little of the beaten track and the course looks a little tired and unloved in places. Greens were in good condition. A fair challenge (we played from the yellow tees) for mid-handicappers with some good par 3s and short, risk-reward par 4s. Don't think I would return given the many other better options in the area.
