5 Nights, 3 Rounds
Morgado do Reguengo is among the newest additions to the Algarve's impressive golfing portfolio. The course is located just North of Portimao and combines Mountain views with mature Portuguese countryside.
In spite of its relative youth, Morgado do Reguengo has a very mature feel, mostly thanks to a dedicated tree planting programme that has seen a great many olive trees establish themselves across the landscape. This has helped to demarcate the new holes properly, and has added to the aesthetic beauty of the natural surroundings, which are dominated by the imposing Monchique mountains.

As with most new resort courses, Morgado do Reguengo has been built with a number of different tees; although it measures a chunky 7,300 yards from the tips, there is a distance to suit every golfer. So fear not, the course is there for every visitor to the Algarve, and has been already established a good reputation in its short years.
Despite the course appearing quite open on first viewing, the natural undulations and strategically placed bunkers make the layout very enjoyable. It is spread out over many acres of countryside making it the perfect place to relax and focus on your game.
Signature Hole: Hole 18, Par 4, 333 yards, SI 9
The 18th is a fantastic finishing hole, with an elevated tee overlooking a wavy fairway and the clubhouse in the distance. A great way to end your round.

The best Course of the lot, a nice lay out with plenty of Water in places. A nice layout, great Greens and in good condition throughout (In the same location as the Alamos) Very enjoyable, only issue was it was slow, a 5 hour round on this one but the surroundings took away the pain.

Prior to our trip this was supposed to be the best course we were due to play but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. I think a number of factors possibly played into this, unfortunately the weather that day wasn't the best (rainy and overcast), the previous 2 courses had been better than expected and finally some of the fairways were bone dry due to the recent drought. It also didn't help that it was very slow to go round as were constantly held up, 4hrs 50min as a 4 ball with buggies is not good and this was playing on a Tuesday when it should be quieter. Most of the paths were roped off so you couldn't drive the buggies on the fairways which added to the frustration. If we were to head to Albufeira again we'd give this course a miss and try something else.
