Very hard course

Everything people say about Carnoustie is true. I am just so glad that the rough was not as penal as it can be in Open Week and the winds were relatively light. Every hole is a different challenge and as the starter put it, "It provides a challenge for every golfer, but a fair one" The facilities are excellent as are the bars and restaurants and the practice facilities are state of the art. The closing 3 holes are renowned for the toughest challenge on the Open rota and I can see why. A fantastic experience.

Fantastic course - actual facilities on this course are poor - you need to use the main Carnoustie club house which is good. Get here 30 mins earlier than you normally would so you can find your way around.

Enjoyed the course, one of the best in the world. Only downside for me was the starter trying to put too much pressure on group to play from forward tees, I personally feel you should be allowed to play from tees of your choice. Especially when handicaps are pretty low and he was still adamant.

Paired with a father and son from America who booth had caddies. The caddies included us and were very helpful. Shocking weather for a few holes which added to the experience

Very much in the shadow of its Championship neighbour, but a lovely course in its own right. The history lesson on each tee is a lovely touch, with each hole named after famous battles. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Hard but fair, a great test, and easy to run up big numbers if you stray from the straight and narrow. This is our second time here and the is nothing not to like.

Amazing course and a super suprise given the quality and standard of the other two this add a third amazing course too.

A testing golf course where you have to bring every shot in your armoury. And as if the layout wasn’t tricky enough then the howling wind adds another layer of difficulty. It beat me up but in some per way I loved it!

Smashing 18 holes of golf

Justifiably rated the supreme challenge in links golf. Tight with plenty of out of bounds, ditches, gorse etc, and a remarkable number of bunkers. Near essential to have a caddie. Greens perhaps not as hard as some other championship courses, but getting there very tough!

Great staff again We were not allocated sufficient time between rounds again the fault of YGT This was confirmed by the staff who thought an extra 30 mins would have been appropriate So we were rushed off without time for a lunch break Disappointing on main event again but thank goodness for the staff who seemed to be used to this kind of thing happening

My experience of this day was ruined before it started when our tee times were completely different to what was expected If it hadn’t been for the great efforts of the starters to rearrange things then we would not have played so you should be thanking them as much as we did As the organiser however my day was rubbish on what was meant to be the the main event of the week and the experience won’t be forgotten for all the wrong reasons

Fantasic course really challenging loved every minute

What was expected of a championship course set up.The wind was up when we played so tricky!!! We enjoyed all the courses we played and would fully recommend this trip.No complaints about the golf ,all excellent.Definitely value for money .

What a course, right up there with the best I’ve played. For people who live their golf, this has to be on the bucket list. Not a cheap course to ply, however, it has to be done

A great warm up course if you are planning to play the championship course. A definite if you are visiting Carnoustie

Great course as you would expect. The rough was not too it wasnt a problem but i don't know how many bunker's are on the course but almost every shot was in one. Strong wind of the sea made it interesting. Must go back sometime and do it again. Though i dont think a very famous golfer would be following me round the next time O they had a claret jug in the pro shop

This course has all the traits of the big course just a little shorter nd a few more trees. The bunkers were little shallower than the main course. Great test before the main event.

The trip to the iconic Carnoustie links was a real experience when playing in Scotland. The Burnside Course runs on the outside of the Championship course and was in great condition and a real test.

A great little course much easier than the Championship Course and in good condition. The half way house drinks very overpriced with hot drinks at £3.50 for a coffee !

Everyone in our party really enjoyed the experience. Fortunately the wind didn’t blow and the rain kept away until the last three holes so was great. The course is a true test of golf thanks to the greens staff. 10/10.

Unfortunately we had an early tee time on the day and the mist had rolled in of the sea and did not clear until after we had played the sixth. We found the course in very good condition but it does not have that wow factor with really memorable holes.

No wind, so course quite easy to play

Course in great condition and really enjoyed the challenge that comes with Carnoustie , Hogans Ally, avoiding the burns & ditches (failed!) , 16th, 17th & 18th. Rough was down so very playable. Sea haar also added an additional challenge for us! Friendly welcome and user friendly club house with indoor simulators available for warm up. Would definitely go back and play again but be a little more strategic with my play to try and avoid the hazards! Best Memory , not going out of bounds on Hogans ally.

What a wonderful experience playing the championship course and met some wonderful people out there and learning about their experiences it’s an experience I will never forget enjoyed greatly with my father

The golf course is difficult but extremely fair and very enjoyable to play I think it’s the best course I’ve ever played by far

Unbelievable experience,the best course I’ve ever played,condition of fairways and bunkers top notch,around the bunkers all the grass cut perfectly,the greens were the best I’ve been on,the starter was a lovely bloke called Graham and gave every bit of advice how to play the course,overall a fantastic experience

Bring your A game as this is THE ultimate Open rota course test. In wonderful condition with amazing greens that merge into the surrounds that merge into the next tee. Turf condition is simply fantastic. Don't go in the bunkers! This is a bucket list golfing experience. Do it!

challenging championship course. A good test without it being too difficult. In very good condition. Famously Ben Hogan qualified for the 1953 Open at Carnoustie here on the Burnside. I'd recommend.

What a golf course. An incredible test, especially with the wind.

Only 16 holes due to course flooding, so not a lot can be done about that. Greens still well kept and a brilliant little half way house. Course would’ve been rated much higher had been played under normal conditions!

Having been assured that no work was due to be carried out until after 1st November, we were very disappointed that the rough had been cut down and the greens tined. Why no request for information on the Bodden course?? Only 15 holes open for play ???? Spoilt our last day

A nice round of golf for the first day, broke us in gently

All temp greens due to frost at 7.30 however by 10pm tee time sun was out and frost was gone . Despite complaining the temp greens stayed in play ! Also I am having to chase YGT for the promised rebate . From start to finish this trip has been badly organised and very disappointing!!

Six greens temporary. Short course with mats on tees. All bunkers GUR!! Was not advised by Your Golf Travel that this would be the case . Very disappointing

The course would have been easier to play had the wind been a little less servere. The caddies were helpful, glad we had them with us.

Greens v good. Partly woodland course looked tired in places but decent considering the recent storms etc.

High challenging winds on day we played focused the mind on shot choice and control. Greens superb and quick.

Weather blessed us and the course was great to play. Wonderful history and experience.

Better of the two subsidiary courses - nice

suburb experience - tight fairways, fast greens. Only problem is it is geared for Rich americans who just want to hack it round.

Despite playing a round at a fantastic course, our booking was unfortunately made difficult by your services. Upon booking I was informed and emailed with confirmation to play the burnside course on 01/04/19 at 14:10 which was correct, however, it was brought to my attention that my round at the Championship Course had been missed and was booked for 01/04/19 at 09:10. This was surprising I was told my your operator that it had been booked for 02/04/19 at 09:00. Thankfully the staff at the Championship were very helpful and fortunately managed to fix this severe error on your behalf so as to ensure we did in fact get a round at the Championship Course. I feel that this mistake had the staff at Carnoustie not been as helpful as they were and I will there not be likely to use your services again in future if this is a likely occurrence in your bookings

Our favourite With the exception of the first couple of holes which are damaged from last year A great course General feedback I organise trips regularly and it includes people of different ages and health ranges To not have access to buggies spoiled this trip for too many of the lads and it means it will probably be our last trip What a shame but there really is no reason why buggies should not have been in use

Great but due to the time of year the tees were forward, would love to go back in the middle of summer

Great course, we played in March and some of the tees were a bit forward and it played short but great trip nonetheless.

Another quality course with slightly wider fairways. From the clubhouse staff to the starters a massive thank you to you all, you made our trip unforgettable.

What can I say but absolutely class. Our group loved everything about this course and the wind made it just how we would expect it to be on a true links course.

We where rained off on our first day but we were told that we could play it again the following day after another round if we wished. Staff couldn’t do enough to help.

Took four and half hours very windy day up to 40mph more than average but playable for our standard 15 handicap Enjoyed the whole experience and would do it again Brilliant long weekend thanks to all concerned
