The Jubilee Course, St Andrews

9.4
Excellent See all 14 reviews

Closest to the West Sands, The Jubilee is arguably the toughest test in St Andrews, with numerous challenging driving holes to negotiate. Its position at the point of the estuary makes The Jubilee the most exposed to the elements, most notably so on the tee at the par-3 ninth, facing a long iron into a rock-hard green. The closing stretch features a succession of difficult par-fours, where holding together a score is as tough as it gets.

Jubilee Course, St Andrews

Golf tour visitors to St Andrews will begin tackling The Jubilee adjacent to The New Course's first tee, and will also benefit from the splendid New Clubhouse, but the beauty of The Jubilee is that its character is so different to its neighbours. The narrow fairways run closest to the shoreline, and when the wind blows, are part of a stern test.

Whilst not an easy test, we were fortunate with the weather and were able to enjoy the layout of the course. Much less undulating than the Castle and the greens were a bit less severe which made it a much more scorable course. Some fantastic holes and great views. The course being near the old and New made it quite a busy place and the value proposition was not quite as good as the Castle course but was still great and a good test for any golfer. Didn't have a caddie this day but saw some out on the course being helpful and doing a great job at keeping the pace of play.

Course lived up to reputation as most challenging course at the St Andrews Links as we had to play in very challenging winds. But this was a great introduction to links golf.

The 8 of us enjoyed the Jubilee Course, numerous bunkers out of play due to the winter maintenance whilst we were there. For week commencing the 10th March in excellent condition

Due to the cold weather , the course and greens were firmer than normal. Otherwise great condition and thoroughly enjoyable.

Played in march, the fairways were very firm and in great conditions. They required playing off fairway mats which was slightly disappointing considering the quality of the fairways. All in all though it was amazing
