Kingarrock Hickory Golf Course

Kingarrock, which was initially constructed for the Sharp family during the early 1900s, holds a significant historical value as it coincides with the era of renowned golfers such as Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, and the utilization of Stymies and Mashie Niblicks.

Presently, it stands as the sole golf course in the UK that exclusively employs hickory clubs, offering a truly distinctive golfing encounter in Scotland.

Situated a mere 20-minute drive from St Andrews, golf enthusiasts have the opportunity to tread the same path as British and US Open champions on our picturesque 9-hole course.

The course's original design and layout have been slightly adjusted to align with contemporary safety requirements. Nevertheless, what sets Kingarrock apart is the distinctive atmosphere we have cultivated, blending elements of traditional groundsmanship with modern enhancements, and the presence of our own flock of sheep leisurely grazing amidst the rugged terrain.

Upon arrival at Kingarrock, golfers will be given with a brief history of the course. All equipment is provided, including a set of hickory shafted clubs, authentic performing balls, golf bag, tees, and a few tips to get the best return from the antique equipment.

Then, you can swing back in time to enjoy a round of golf from a bygone era. After the round, the golf team will supply traditional post round refreshments of Ginger Beer and Shortbread.
