Located just 15 minutes from Agadir, Tazegzout Golf Club, not to be confused with the area of Taghazout Bay itself, takes pride of place on a dramatic patch of land that sits high above the Atlantic Ocean and offers golfers breaking views from start to finish.
Designed by Kyle Phillips, the par 72, 6,730 metre layout at Tazegzout golf course spreads across 76 hectares of land and is perched 80m above sea level, with each hole enjoying breathtaking views of the ocean. The course meanders through the natural Argan vegetation, rising to a crescendo on the final 3 holes, which are played over two deep rocky ravines and finally along the 80m cliff edge. The finishing holes at Tazegzout Golf are a spectacular test and will provide endless stories to retell on the terrace of the magnificent clubhouse.
An indication of the quality on offer here comes in the form of its designer. Tazegzout Golf opened for play in 2014 and before that, Phillips had completed work on the likes of The Grove, host of the 2006 WGC American Express Championship won by Tiger Woods, and Kingsbarns which is widely considered to be one of the best links courses in Scotland, not to mention many, many others.
Early holes take you inland up uphill, with fairways that cut their way through the rugged desert mountain landscape and between giant bunkers that are definitely best avoided. Eventually, the course turns towards the coast and comes to a crescendo over the final 3 holes which are among the most exciting in all of Morocco.
It’s a tough call due to the fact that there are so many standout options, but we’d argue the Signature Hole comes at the par 3 17th, where the tee shot is played over a rocky chasm to a dramatic green that seems perched on the edge of the world. This do or die hole is as tricky as it is beautiful, with the Atlantic just a few hundred meters to the left providing the perfect backdrop. The par 5 18th hole isn’t too shabby either, taking you all the way back along the coast to the clubhouse which, yes you guessed it, boasts spectacular ocean views.
Rated as the 7th best golf course in Morocco, Tazegzout is a must for anyone looking to embark on an Agadir Golf Holiday.

Very interesting course with quite a few ravines. The 17th is a frightener 😂 Good staff service. Low score for facilities as they are base in adjacent hotel so bit of a walk away.

We arrived early and about 50 players were on or around the 1st tee waiting too go off, after about 45 minutes we were told to go to the 10th Tee, after about slow back nine we arrived back at the 1st tee we got away pretty quickly but after the 2rd hole came across a 6 ball who were not very good, there were not going to let us through We missed out an hole and drove to the next tee box and never seen them again, We will give this course a miss on our next trip, we feel there are a lot of this is a good idea golfers that really should be on the other course has the main course is tough

Facilities undergoing refurbishment. Course good. Once again staff lacked experience of maintaining players movement around the course and practice area.

For the 3rd day running we were rushed onto the tee. Our tee time was 10.30 so we arrived at 9.45 but they wanted us on the tee at 10am. Just managed to grab 2 or 3 practice putts before they started calling me over to the tee. Momo, the caddy, was brilliant!! Tough course in the sense that the holes were fair, goof quality and decent length but teeter were a lot of holes where if you made a mistake you really paid for it. Good test of golf. Slightly disappointed that the front 9 were played in a mist so the views weren't there, no ones fault obviously. The 2nd 9 it was clear and looked great. 16th and 17th were signature holes with big carries, not easy for the 2 ladies with us but they survived!!

Avoid if possible. The organisation is diabolical. Supposed to be 10 minute tee times but the caddy master was using both tees so effectively 5 minute tee times with resulting overcrowding. Nearly 6 hours to play 18 😖😖

A really good course but too hard for the average golfers. Consequently, 5 and a half hour round.
