Vila Gale Cascais

Stunning location our room had a lovely view across the marina. This was our base for a golf trip and I would certainly recommend it. The outside bar area was ok but could do with a face lift and some more comfortable seating.

Whilst the Hotel was clean and in a good location our rooms looked out on the car park. Staff was very unhelpful if you needed anything you had to ask 3-4 times and never greeted with a smile.

Comfortable and extremely convenient. Excellent location. Unfortunately there are only 3 lifts, one of which was out of services for our entire stay. The lefts are small, slow and only take 3 adults at a time. Less if you have golf bags. Only a small gripe though as service was excellent and staff friendly and helpful

Some aspects were excellent: the location and the friendliness of the staff. However, the electric lighting in the room was unreliable and the beds uncomfortable. The worst aspect was the noise. On 4 nights out of 10 we had problems. On 2 occasions we were kept awake by noise from the bar, once by loud music continuing after midnight, the other by people singing and shouting. The hotel could have prevented or minimised these disturbances. On 2 other occasions we were woken up by noisy shouting in the corridors outside our room. Golfers from Britain and Ireland were responsible for a lot of this noise. We now have sadly come to realise a significant proportion of golfers visiting Cascais on holiday are louts. Overall the golf holiday package is excellent. We plan to do it again in Portugal, but won't be revisiting Vila Gale Cascais.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. They could have done adding some nuts and seeds to the cereal bar and offering the Portuguese tarts more than once, during our stay.

Comfortable hotel. Great location to enjoy Cascais. Easy train travel to Lisbon.

Excellent hotel ideally located . Would stop there again without hesitation. Super room overlooking sea. Valerio Restaurant in Marina was first class, the only restaurant we ate at more than once. Transfers were excellent , always with us early , stress free.

Very nice hotel & situated near the restaurants & bars.Golf also a short journey.Able to extend out room stay. On last day which was handy.

The hotel was fine with comfortable rooms and a good location. The rooms had very few creature comforts, however, not tea or coffee making or even fresh water each day. Seems to be run on an economy drive. The worst aspect was the bar which was more like a conference room, extremely bright and no atmosphere whatsoever. Would not go back to this hotel

YGT told me 49 see view rooms were booked. We did not get see view rooms!

no complaints room was of high standard cleaning to a high standard top class

I was disappointed on arrival. The hotel only had 6 people booked in (not 10), beds were not made and we waited over 1hr to get our room keys which was very inconvenient.

Cannot fault any aspect of our hotel. We all had great sea view rooms, the staff were excellent.Lovely pool and great facilities.

The Hotel was perfect for a golf trip great location large room sizes and good bar. Only downsides were the lifts which were poor. Would go back there.

Hotel is perfectly positioned for walking into Cascais. The station is also within walking distance if you want a trip into Lisbon. Large comfortable rooms. Did not use the restaurant apart from a pretty standard buffet breakfast (but perfectly acceptable). Attractive swimming pool area. Cannot assess value for money as price not broken down into component parts

It is a good hotel for a golf trip. Basic but adequate.

Suited our needs to a tee, ideal location, within walking distance of the town and restaurants etc. Staff were excellent, the facilities were fine and the rooms fine.

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 other occasions and choose it because of its proximity to the marina and the town centre . Always good value for money .

English Breakfast provided was not always hot.

A tired, scruffy hotel in need of refurbishment or, at the least, some paint and a good spring clean. We had to take suites, at significant cost, because it was full of Iron Man aficionados. Two of the three suites had toxic smells and all were pretty scruffy. The sea view, past the opposite hotel, was limited. On the plus side, the location was fine with two first rate hotels, with good restaurants close by. Helpful as the Vila Gale food was very ordinary. I would not choose to stay here again.
