Rated within The Golf Digest Top 100 Golf Courses in the World and as both Abu Dhabi's and The Middle East's number 1 golf course, this is a golfing treat that has gained a worldwide reputation.
Fresh from creating masterpieces like Kingsbarns near St Andrews and Dundonald in Troon, Scotland, this spectacular golf course was designed by Kyle Phillips, one of the world's leading course architects, has created this genuine, traditional links course out of a flat desert wasteland. It's the first of its type in the Middle East region - and it's a corker.
With it's excellent location on Yas Island, golfers heading here are in for an unforgettable experience on the course but will also be well-placed to enjoy the likes of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Mall as well as only being less than 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Where there were rolling dunes and wasteland, there's now a collection of rolling verdant fairways, deep bunkers, wispy rough and inviting, sloping greens with their traditional heartbreaking run-offs. Against all the odds, Phillips has created a modern classic and the par-72 layout, which plays to a maximum of 7,450 yards, is endowed with nine holes that dramatically hug the coastline, while all 18 holes boast views of the shoreline making it one of the best courses to play in the UAE. Multiple teeing areas make all this enjoyable for most golfers.
In addition to the championship 18-hole course, there's a nine-hole academy course, clubhouse, golf academy and floodlit practice facilities, set against dramatic views of the Arabian Gulf.
Yas Links is also memorable because it's situated on the spectacular Yas Island, strategically located between the coast and city of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with a range of world-class hotels, theme parks, golf courses, mega malls, apartments and villas, and much more. There's a Ferrari theme park, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, featuring the world's fastest roller coaster, and if you want more excitement the Warner Brothers theme park and Yas Water Park should suffice. This is also the home of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Yas Hotel is also a unique attraction, with a spectacular aerodynamic gridshell exterior that is a fully programmable cloak of illuminated glass panels, enabling it to act as a light show at night, providing different shades and colours, including animations. Like the fantastic Scottish links-style course in the desert, it's all a little surreal, but makes a trip here all the more memorable.

The Yas Links floodlit Par 3 Academy Course is the ultimate tune-up. Small, challenging greens demand pinpoint accuracy. Ranging from 83 to 185 yards, every hole is a scoring opportunity and a crucial test for your handicap.
This fully floodlit 9-hole course, also a masterpiece by Kyle Phillips, is built to test your iron play and accuracy.
Yas Links has been the host of The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship since 2022. The winner of the 2022 event was Belgian Ryder Cup star Thomas Pieters who finished on -10 for 4 rounds which was enough for a 1 shot victory over Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Shubhankar Sharma.
The 2023 event was won by France's Victor Perez who finished on -18 with rounds of 71, 65, 68 and 66. This was enough for a 1 shot victory but also claiming his 3rd victory on The European Tour.
In 2024 Paul Waring shot a 4 round score of -24 to beat Tyrrell Hatton by two shots, he established a lead in the event with a course record 61 on the Friday and displayed nerves of steel holding off the rest of the field with a 66 in the final round.
Aaron Rai secured his second Rolex Series title at the 2025 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, defeating Tommy Fleetwood in a dramatic play-off. Rai sank birdies on the 16th and 17th to tie Fleetwood on the final hole. After missing a winning putt in regulation, Rai didn't falter on the first extra hole, holing his birdie putt to claim his third DP World Tour win.

The clubhouse is beautiful. The course is excellent, it has some amazing holes, with interesting undulating greens that are very quick. Played the course 3 times and after playing off the forward tees on day 1 which at 5,400 yards is very short, as a single handicap I then played off the 62 markers although they are not slope rated for ladies and the starter wasnt happy with me playing off them. Love the course and would definitely go back.

Very busy course with groups playing in 4 balls and having their own competitions leading to slow play and no use of ready golf Too much time spent on greens deciding who’s turn to putt etc leaving us watching from the fairway (admittedly enjoying beautiful surroundings and wildlife) Some bunkers unraked and greens with a few pitch marks not uncommon Great course, amazing design and location but perhaps in danger of too much pressure

Fantastic golf course, but very busy the day we played so the pace of play was an issue. Despite there being 3 course marshals, they were totally ineffective in managing the course. It did not spoil our visit but it does need to be addressed.

The course was in great condition - at times you had to check the fairways to see if you were playing off real grass they were so good. An enjoyable round but it was slow due to a group a few holes ahead. Marshalls were trying to speed them up and the marshalls apologised to us for the slowness of our round. The upside was we were playing in the sunshine when our course at home was closed due to snow!

The greens were sanded but I still enjoyed the set up. It's definitely fun course to play even if it is windy.

Fabulous links course, fairways were better than our greens at home! highly recommend Cold water fountains available around the course which was great in the heat. So well organised, clubs taken from you on arrival and were waiting on the buggy for you at the driving range, all staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

this is a great course, but due to storms the bunkers were ground under repair which reduced the quality. Staff and facilities off course were generally great but we had a frustratingly slow round as a 2 ball behind a bunch of 4 balls and course marshalls were absent and there was a lack of interest in our frustration when we gently told them

Absolute No 1 course in UAE. Having played this course 7 years ago, it was no surprise to see this take over the hosting of the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship. And now that it is, the investment on over-seeding etc that happens to hosting courses in UAE has taken this course to another level. Played in 38C heat, but with a really gusting wind made the course bear its teeth, especially the final few holes. Great contouring and layout of holes making the most of the wind and with some of the biggest greens we have played on meaning that getting onto the putting surface was not the end of the challenge. Lots of favourite holes on this course, but the par 3 17th and par 5 18th into the wind were as tough as they come.

Do not recommend playing the course when they're tearing down the grandstands and tournament faclities. Clubhouse service was poor, lack of buggies, on course new to golf group playing lessons taking place when the course was very busy, we finished the round in dusk

Greens were exceptional, fairways and tees in good shape but with some bare patches. Played their twice, on the second round there was slot of course maintenance in preparation for a tournament and the bunkers were poor so it’s worth checking condition before you go. Tough golf course but definitely would return.

Some areas of GUR but unless you were off the fairway, it rarely impacted us. Views are lovely, course is strategic but I don't think as difficult as Saadiyat but thoroughly enjoyable.

Yas Links was new to me on this tour but was highly rated by some of my playing pals. Current condition is sporadic, they obviously need some cooler weather to allow some areas to repair and there remains an insane amount of construction going on around the perimeter of the course. However, the layout of this course is awesome with the back nine, in particular, a joyous challenge. We played in a shotgun start format which kicked off at 12-45pm so it was truly hot (39c) but we benefited later on from a breeze which made our back nine (actually the front nine) more pleasant. The clubhouse is somewhat understated but comfortable and relaxing and extremely friendly. All in all we had a great day at Yas Links but were not expecting preferred lies and very straggly rough. In perfect shape this would be a fantastic experience to play, for us it was just really enjoyable but not perfect.

I can honestly say I was blown away with just how seriously nice this course was. Yas Links is by far the best golf course I have ever played and I can say that even though I am only a 20 handicapper I have played on some really nice courses all over the world. The holes were just so unique to anything I have ever played before and the last 3 or 4 holes just somehow got even better, finishing off with the 18 being just an incredible hole. I would recommend any golfer to play all three courses in Abu Dhabi we played (Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat being the others) and bet my last dollar that they will not have one single complaint.

Just back from Yas Links so here is my review. We really enjoyed it, we've already booked to come back here in six months time. It is probably one of the best courses you'll ever play, World Class! Has a feel of Kingsbarns but with the added element of sun and cactus! The 17th was a personal favourite for me. Just one small thing I'd recommend to someone playing here is that the buggies give you yardages to the middle of the greens, the other courses in Abu Dhabi give them to flag.

Yas Links stands out especially as one of the best courses I have played. Not surprisingly there were similarities between it and Kingsbarns in terms of the lay-out, and from every tee position the holes looked spectacular. The short holes were all memorable, and go to prove that a par-three doesn’t need to be approaching 200 yards to make it a real test of golf, but the finishing hole – a great par-5 following the coast line round to a perfect finishing green had everyone talking in the bar afterwards.
