We had issues in arrival as they placed us in a smoking room. They failed to check when we arrived whether we wanted a smoking or non smoking room. When you book for future clients I would suggest you ensure this is specified at time of book to avoid complaints. The hotel resolved it the next morning but it was not a great start to the stay. The hotel is a little dated and their communication of key things such as the use of restaurants etc. was poor. It was an ok stay but not a 5 star experience, more 3 star.

Overall Media Rotana is 20 mins from all the courses we played so nice and central for places like Dubai mall and the madinat etc in the evening. Whilst I would describe the hotel as basic it has a high standard of hygiene and despite being basic everything it has to offer is done well to a good standard. For the boys for golf it doesn’t need to be anything else. Perfect

A very well located hotel very convenient to courses and very quick and inexpensive by Uber Hotel is nice, bright and clean, it was busy but staff were really top class Room upgrade was worth it beautiful and spacious air con worked well and was quiet… issue with hot water in shower the only let down Guest service team were really good Pool are is ok not typical Dubai standard but it is a functional hotel for camping if over for golf .. would I stay again probably yes

Accommodation was adaquate for what we wanted. Breakfast was busy and some of the other clients rather rude and had a lack of manners. The staff were excellent and very patient when spoken to by these rude people. The sun terrace was nice but the pool far to small for such a large hotel with inadequate number of sun loungers. Pool staff attentive and very helpful but residents swimming with long hair floating in the pool was off putting. If going to golf as we were ensure the concierge does not get you a hotel taxi but a local cab. We were caught out and paid 3 x as much as a local cab. Didn't realise until we got a local cab home and were shocked at the difference.

Very nice people especially karim on the front desk, buffet dinner room could be better designed but all in all very acceptable, whether it is 6 star against the likes of the westin is debatable

Upgraded to a Penthouse Suite for a very small monetary increase. Hotel facilities are very good. Staff make the hotel as they can't do enough for you. Another fantastic week.

Hotel was great value for money. There is a very smokey bar in the lobby which was very popular. Pool is a bit tired but for the money was a great place to stay.

Good easy stay with everything you need. Rooms very good , staff professional and friendly, nice pub on premises, unfortunately SMOKING was allowed. Always recommendable

Ideal for a golf stay. The staff were excellent and for a very modest amount we has an upgrade, which allowed a 9am check in, great for an overnight flight. The beds were very comfortable and housekeeping excellent. Only down side was the old fashioned smoking policy, which made the environment in Nelson’s pretty unpleasant. That aside, we would stay again.

Rooms a bit functional but with all mod cons. Hot water took a long time. Excellent New Year Gala. Welcoming and hard working staff.

Excellent location and very comfortable. Has a great breakfast and gorgeous Italian restaurant all within the hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is perfect for golfers.very clean and functional good bars and Italian restaurant Prego with happy hours. You can walk to the Metro 7 mins but getting to the beach marina is a taxi ride of 25 mins due to the heavy traffic.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff good food spacious room housekeeping very good. A little pricey and not the best location but I would stay there again.

Overall very satisfying stay, Used most of the facilities, breakfast was ideal The only negative was the temperature of the Showers, both rooms lacking hot water.

there is nothing really to criticise but equally nothing to compliment, the hotel is a little tired and a bit chaotic. Given the speed of development in Dubai, there must be newer and better options

Thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff all very friendly and helpful. Especially helpful sorting out taxis for us.

Very clean, comfortable hotel. Restaurants nearby. Most importantly there was a laundry nearby.

This is a 'functional' hotel. It's supposed to be 5* but it's a 4*. It is value for money. It is 30mins drive from the airport. The restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner. The teas and coffees are not great.

Great stay close to everything we needed to do, hotel bar and the food in there was top quality 👌

Well located for access to Emirates Golf for Dubai Classic. Walk to metro straightforward. Variety of restaurants- really good buffet breakfast. Rooms kept spotless

A great location for the three courses we played…only 15 mins by car to each one. We decided to hire a car and it was very easy to find as were the courses. There were three of us in the party and they gave us rooms with interlinking doors, which was very handy. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice for all tastes. Staff very friendly. Only slight negative was that the pool was in the shade between both towers of the hotel, so we weren’t able to enjoy some sun after the golf, but we managed to find solace in a few beers! Although AED50/pint is steep (£10!). Overall a great stay…

Overall we were very happy with this hotel. Unfortunately on arrival the hotel staff weren’t aware that we had a free room upgrade and the reception insisted that we had to pay for the upgrade. This took 4 days to get resolved. The hotel has an outside terrace and bar on the first floor which we used each night. We were informed on the Thursday that this facility would not be available on the Friday and Saturday night as it had been booked out for a private party. We complained to the management but we felt that we weren’t offered a reasonable explanation.

Good hotel at a very good price, Nelsons is a good bar with good choice of drinks, staff were friendly, breakfast wasn’t amazing but overall a good spot

While the hotel was 5 star in it's day it doesn't achieve this today location and lack of restaurants and food choice fall well below a 5 star rating

Absolutely fine for a group of golfers if you want to use this hotel as simply a base. Good value for money

A true 4 star hotel. Service generally pretty good and £10 a night upgrade for a suite very much worth it. Excellent help with technology in sorting out the passenger locator form.

We booked 4 twin rooms for a party of 8 male golfers. When we arrived at the hotel as agreed for ab2pm check in I was told we had been upgraded to 4 double rooms; I was told this was for our benefit as the rooms had a bedroom and seperate lounge. What it appears had realy happened was they had no twin rooms available. When I challenged that as 8 male guests we would not accept a single double bed for each of the 4 rooms. After some discussion the check in staff they would have a single cot bed put into the lounge area of each room. While this got over the issue of just 1 bed in the room the single bed was very poor and not to a standard I would expect to sleep in at any hotel. Then we had further delays in accessing our rooms with the last 2 rooms being allocated after 4.30pm. I did complain to no avail however having given my review of the hotel I have received an email from a senior manager at the hotel accepting full responsibility and acknowledging the poor standard of accomdation and service. The only consolation this did not detract from the enjoyment of the week made up by the great quality of the golf.

Great hotel easy access to all places we visited a short walk to the metro there were free shuttles to the beach, malls and outlets great place to stay staff were very attentive food was amazing we would defo recommend this hotel

We arrived early and were given a room straight away. However there was inadequate storage space for clothes so we asked for another room. The next was virtually the same but we were then allocated a room which was significantly better. The bars allowed smoking which was disappointing, all the more so because of the huge pipe apparatus supplied by the hotel. The price of drinks was prohibitive and the tourist tax added to the bill on departure was totally unexpected.
