Evolutee Hotel at Royal Obidos Spa & Golf Resort

Accommodation and food excellent, and the staff were incredibly helpful, arranging restaurants and taxis in Obidos.

Beautiful Hotel, with great staff. Downside is there is not much else around and you need transport to get to other locations/restaurants/bars etc. Food and drink at Hotel is good quality, but feel due to the fact that there is not much competition, the prices are on the higher side.

I have been to many hotels across Europe and this has got to be the best one by far. The rooms with a sea view are massive and very comfortable. The main room and the ablutions have one way picture windows, so you can enjoy the view of the Obidos course and the Atlantic while you are in the bath. However the best thing about this hotel complex is the staff, they are amazing, I know this sounds like nonsense but they give you the impression that they are only there for you. Outstanding.

Hotel was a bit bland. Poor breakfast offering. Staff though were very good and accomodating.

Hotel comfortable but unfortunately in a middle of a construction sight. Cranes spoil the sea view and construction noise durring working hours

Lovely golf course, greens were very quick and true, probably the best of the 3 courses we played. Again signage was not great if you were playing the course for the 1st time and a couple of times we had no idea which way to go.

Foggy start which was a little dangerous as players in front couldn’t be seen. The course was excellent with some very picturesque holes, and water features.

We played the course a few days after the euro pro tour and the rough had been left to grow long for this. This made playing this stunning, beautiful course super tough but great fun!

My wife and I have played this course before so we new what to expect, however this time the Atlantic winds were up and it became very difficult to play in places. Its a Seve masterpiece, in great condition and should not be missed.

Hard to believe Seve designed it given his driving was pretty off a lot of the time! It is a good course but a slog between holes and a bit of a slog overall. Third on our list compared to West Cliffs and Praia del Rey and just felt like really hard work to get round. Views not up to much compared to the other two as well. Still worth playing but only if you have a few rounds over there on the other courses. All the courses seem to run out of electric trolleys and buggies on busy days so book ahead if you need that.

Definitely for the better player, very long but not too much trouble off the tee.

Quality course and if your a Seve fan a real reward to see how he thought golf should be played. Amazing condition on the fairways and greens with a choice of club decisions to be made on many of the tees.

Like all 5 courses, green requires a lot of time to get used to

Course is very hilly with long walks between tees. Buggy’s were cart path only so we preferred to walk. It was quite wet so played quite long. Wide open fairways. We played as a two ball and had it to ourselves.

Top class, best of the three we used. We used rental clubs on each course, Bring your own.

The Jewel in the crown. Tough track as well but more forgiving than West Cliffs. Just nudges West Cliffs into second place.

This course gets better every time I play. Started early so great to get around without delays. V good conditions all round .No 1 in the area by some distance . Buggies at €90?

Nice course again spoilt by a 5 hour + round

This one is a pleasure to play it just a shame that Seve never saw it come to fruition he would have been very proud . We were a bit unlucky with our timing to play as it was still set up to championship level because they had a European tour event there the week before.There are some fantastic holes on it split between the front and back 9s a real challenge for all golfers.

A very tricky golf course. Some long walks between green and tee. Golf course is in excellent order.

Course was wet after rain in the night and played very long. I would imagine if it had been dry we would have enjoyed it a lot more. Staff helpful in the bar and the pro shop and the course was empty. We arrived a couple of hours early for breakfast and practice and no one went out before we did. We were told on arrival we could go out any time.

Not our favourite and didn’t feel it justified the Royal in the title.

A very tough layout by Seve Ballesteros made all the more difficult because this was a first visit and the location of unseen traps, streams and marsh area led to a frustrating end to a seemingly good shot. Make no mistake, the construction standards of this relatively new course are top notch but the rough had been cut at several inches long and being very thick and dewy meant for longer than necessary searches for balls that had only just left the fairway. Starting at the 10th, when arriving at the 1st (on schedule) we found several member groups had started (as is apparently their right) resulting in a wait on every tee so lengthy that we drove in after 14 and might yet have been out there if we had continued.

Great course some tough holes with long second shots, but a great course

I really enjoyed the course but the ladies with handicaps over 20 found it very difficult.

We played this course on a wet, miserable day, which may have coloured our impressions. There are several illogical holes which require irons off the tee, with the second shot being at right angles to the tee. Playing from the 55 markers meant that on more than one par five you had to lay up short of a lake with an iron- not ideal. Furthermore there are several holes where walks between greens and tees are over long and hilly - it is obviously a course designed for buggies. The facilities were rather spartan and the pro shop poorly stocked.

This course was difficult, especially with 30MPH winds, long and tough, wide fairways but greens were average. Overall, it was the weakest of the three courses we played.

This was our first course we played on the estate and didn’t disappoint. plenty of water to negotiate but lovely fairways and greens to aim for

An amazing course, super challenging mentally and physically. Prior course knowledge would be gold around here. Some absolutely great water holes to really test you and your yardage precision. Occasionally a little long between holes. Take a buggy.

We played the course in quiet bad weather. I think in a few years - this will be a great course.

My favourite. Lovely setting and a good stiff challenge without being silly. A good walking course.

Need more rangers to police course. The round too almost 5 hours [ in a buggy] due to slow play.

Much more open but with loads of water! Super greens and overall in very good condition. They failed a bit when we finished being too busy to offer food without a massive wait, so we went back to the hotel and ate there so no real drama.

Very picturesque and in great condition with quick undulating greens and lots of water but not unfair. A very enjoyable round and a very nice clubhouse to enjoy a drink afterwards.
