3 Nights, 2 Rounds
- Bed and Breakfast
- 2 rounds at Flamingos Course, Alferini Course or Tramores Course
Villa Padierna Golf Club is set amidst gentle green hills and caressed by the breeze of the Mediterranean Sea, its magnificent facilities pay tribute to the game and delight with peerless service and genuine hospitality. The three 18-hole courses have been designed to be challenging and pleasurable for golfers of all ages and abilities.
An exceptional drainage system allows immediate resumption of play after rain but with an average of 320 days of sunshine a year on the Costa del Sol hoping it doesn't rain is not something golfers have to worry about.
Flamingos has played host to the European Senior & Ladies European Tours. With undulating greens and enveloping views of the Mediterranean, it has become an epitome of big-time golf on the Costa del Sol. The Alferini course provides a wide variety of natural features and hazards while the short Tramores course serves up a great deal of fun and enjoyment, a highly attractive option to hone your short game, and equally suitable for junior golfers, beginners and time-strapped golfers.
With unforgettable Mountain and sea-views, a round at Villa Padierna Golf Club is a top-choice when playing golf in this area of Spain.

Flamingos Golf is the original layout at the resort, and measures 6,248 yards. The par-71 course was designed by Antonio Garrido, formerly a prominent European Tour player and now an established architect.
The fairways are lined by a beautiful variety of trees, while visiting golfers will no doubt enjoy the stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea. The greens are large and undulating throughout, but the front nine is certainly the toughest, where the narrow fairways demand good accuracy and control.

Opened in October 2007, Alferini is an outstanding par-73 that insiders believe will surpass the original Flamingos layout, and will underline the resort's internationally renowned status. Measuring 7,260 yards from the back tees this course will be more than a match for the big hitters while not unplayable for others thanks to multiple sets of tees.
Like the other golf courses situated on the Villa Padeirna resort, Alferini offers breathtaking views thanks to its location in a beautiful valley, away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Although this course is reasonably long it would be described as many as a technical layout. Two lakes and a stream place an emphasis on precision rather than power and club selection will have to be spot on in order to safely negotiate the subtle elevation changes.

Tramores is the shortest of the 3 Antonio Garcia Garrido courses in the area, measuring just 3,792 yards from the tips. Although the course is very short by modern standards, its par of 63 makes it somewhat of a challenge. Because of its technical layout it will favour the accurate rather than the bold. The longer hitters however, will still get the odd opportunity to ‘give it a ride’ with the driver.
This course is ideal for parents with children or those just starting out in the game, as well as more experienced players who are pushed for time or just looking for a more relaxing golfing experience. There is also an American Golf Academy which provides premium practice facilities in which to get a lesson or just hit some balls.

Welcome: - Distinctly lacking. We were the last to tee off and it felt like they didn’t want us there. - They closed the warm up range (which was sold as a nice perk as everyone playing the course had the opportunity to warm up there). - The guy on the reception didn’t even look up as we approached. Trying to obtain the keys for the buggies was way more complicated than needed, just a grunt and here they are. - We came straight from the airport so we’re assured there were lockers available, this wasn’t the case. Most had no keys so we just had to risk it. - post the round, we simply couldn’t get a drink as they prioritised the hotel guests and ignored us, so we just left! Course: - really varied but narrow! There had been heavy rain the day before and the greens were not in a good state, but to be expected.

You will be almost alone if you play here. Flamingos course is packed but Alferini has fearsome reputation and is empty. The 1st + 2nd confirm that reputation, very hard holes. It is easier up on the plateau but almost all greens are elevated and guarded by mahoosive bunker. Okay if you bomb 290 yds off tee otherwise, yep, hard. Closing few holes super hard. Proper big boys course. Unfortunately fairways were goat track dry and not good condition otherwise good and lovely club house.

This was the third course we played after La Hacienda and La Zagaleta so we came into it a little spoilt. Overall its a decent course and nice to have played it but we wouldn't be longing to return. The bunkers were all in extremely poor condition due to the heavy rain on the previous days however no effort had been made to rake or fix them. The driving range was also out of order. The cart girl only came around once (after being phoned) and didn't have any sandwiches or baguettes. When we finished the golf around 5.00pm there was no food to be got in the clubhouse.

This course is too difficult for mid handicap players Very good condition but be prepared to lose balls even from decent shots Last hole is comical with a 180yd carry over a 300ft drop ravine

Not supposed to let high handicap golfers on but we followed behind a couple of 4 balls who were dredfull . Ruined our round and we gave up after 14 holes. No marshalls on the corse and when we called the golf corse they did nothing , shame as it’s a absolute cracker of a corse

Finding the right course was difficult . Signs very poor. One of the 3 courses involver a 3 km drive on a buggy to the start. Course was challenging , but fair. We didn't bother with the post match drink. Could see any typical bar. Getting in and out of the garage and dropping off clubs not easy.

Nice course, greens became very "used" by the end of each day. This is a public course and has nothing to do with the hotel which is a big shame.

This course was a late substitute from our original choice due to ground maintenance on our original choice was not disappointed a testing course set in the mountains about 5 mins from hotel, very high class course which i would believe would be much more expensive in high season so the your golf travel team done well in getting this for the party , thank you to all

Always a must play for our tour, condition is always excellent and offers a great experience. The OLD course can appear to some as long and difficult so not the ideal course for beginners.

Prices we saw suggest they are looking to pack golfers in[€120 for a round of golf and lunch]. Hence slow round and the course in very poor condition. Both of these were not helped by the number of 'hackers' on the course. On our first round the club ran out of golf buggies so when we came into return our buggy we were surrounded by frustrated golfers demanding to know how much battery life we had left. Got quite intimidating!! No sat nav on the buggy which for €45 is a joke. Played last year and it all seems to have got out of control both on and off the course. It was obvious that the golf staff were well stressed

A cracking test of golf, some very tough holes that require accurate shots from the tee, and some of the views are spectacular. I would recommend this to all golfers. Buggy is a must, and the free parking abit of a trek from the caddy master. There is nearer parking at the hotel for €1:80 per hour. In all a beautiful course.

Sum it up in 2 words "Absolute Beast". Long and oh so hard but with that worthwhile feeling afterwards. Such a tight course... take plenty of balls! One big downside was confusing and poorly signposted parking (it's underneath the Clubhouse) and it's not free! There are 3 courses on site and Alferini is considered the hardest and overall it is a fabulous complex
