Having originally been designed in 1973 by Gary Player, El Paraiso Golf Club has attracted golf holidaymakers in the Costa del Sol for decades. Located west of Marbella in Estepona, this par-71 18 hole golf course measures over 6,600 yards to create a superb test of golf for all handicaps. Meandering through palm trees and mature Andalucia countryside, El Paraiso utilises its natural terrain with mountain views to create a challenge that focuses on accuracy rather than length to stand a chance of playing to your handicap.
There are many great holes to enjoy at El Paraiso but the par-5 6th is considered to be its signature. Measuring just shy of 500 yards from the white tees, the hole dog legs from right to left with a bunker in play on the right for anyone bailing out off the tee. As you turn the corner, the hole's danger becomes apparent with numerous bunkers ready to catch your second shot if laying up and a large lake to the right for anyone attempting the green. The putting surface is guarded by a further two bunkers and a large slope ready to snare any mishit putt.
After your round, regardless of how you've played, a warm welcome awaits in the lovely clubhouse. As one of the few members clubs in the Costa del Sol, this is a great place to take in a bit of the history of the club as well as enjoy a cold drink while watching the golfers take on the course around you.

Little more open than the others which was helpful. Very picturesque and the team there were accommodating.

Our favourite course again - many memorable holes and an excellent experience. They have changed over the two nine holes meaning that the signature holes come later in the round.

Great course for larger groups of mixed abilities. Very forgiving course gives you a chance to recover after a bad shot and some great elevated tees giving a great view of the surroundings. Marshalls were friendly, helpful and polite.

Not as tight off the tee as some courses, which was a relief.

Great course, a fair challenge but we all struggled with the greens, but that's due to our lack of ability and no fault of the greens or set up. Food & drink at the course were excellent value.

Don't know what went wrong on this booking but the transfer was booked at 09.45 with a T/off of 11.00 according to our email booking. The transfer turned up at 07,30 then left we had to get taxis to the course got there for 0930 and they managed to squeeze us not just before the competition started, I had to the contact the transfer company to rearrange the bus back. So not very pleased. Please could someone contact me regarding a refund of 62 euros spent on taxis and talk about what went wrong

Rated top or second by three of us, El Paraiso was a good start to our week. Good fairways with lots of palm trees, and it took a bit of time to get used to the grass, but it was a fairly level course and a decent test of golf to start. Buggies were €40 each which was more than we were used to, but we were pleased to have them and they were allowed on the fairways. The restaurant in the clubhouse was pleasant and overlooked the 18th green. Staff were universally friendly and efficient.

We have previously played here more than any other course outside the UK but never seen it in such good condition - must have a very good green keeping team. Played on our own with no one in front of behind - 3 hours 40 minutes - PERFECT !!

Really nice course, quite hilly in parts but challenging. Had a meal in the clubhouse which was excellent quality and value for money. Staff in the restaurant were very entertaining. Friendliest Spanish course experience I've had for a long while

Out of the five courses we played this was certainly the best. I am glad it was the last one we played as we could then leave Spain with at least one happy golfine experience. I have been organising our golfing trips abroad for the past 25 years and I am afraid this one would be bottom of the heap.

A members club who held their club championship just ahead of us. A more open course, similar to many in southern England but more hilly. Good clubhouse facilities.

One hole was out of action, there was a short par three to replace it.The course gave the appearance of being overplayed vis the depth of grass on the fairways. The greens ,however, were ok -complex and quite difficult to read.Overall ok.

A very nice course, good layout & fairways. Only a few greens were showing signs of wear and one was being rebuilt and still in play!! I think a little expensive with other courses much better locally and a little cheaper.
