La Hacienda Links Golf Resort

The course was ok but there was a lot of worm cast on fairways which created a lot of mud .They had obviously had a lot of rain before we arrived as buggy’s were not allowed onto fairways which is always a pain for club selection

A great course. Some wonderful holes. Superb greens.

This course is spectacular with views down the coast to the Rock and Morocco beyond. The greens are incredible: so fast and borrows that you see only after the ball starts rolling. Play it more than once!

Nice views. Course condition was pretty good. Lower cost than some others we played so v happy with value for money.

Nice course, some holes pretty tough and it was very slow there were times where we where waiting as 3 groups on one tee box. Dont know the value for money but i think its quite expensive therefore i wouldnt book it twice. Defenitely prefer links for the price.

I found the course difficult, 20 h-c, but in excellent condition with fast greens and good fairways a pleasure to play I just needed to be a better golfer to get the best from it.

the front 9 is not a golf course in any capacity. the back 9 is a fine collection of holes

Stunning course on the coast line with great views over the sea and the Gibraltar rock. Mixture of very challenging holes and some quite open but a very fair test.

Lots of ups and downs which made judging playing distance difficult but good coastal views across to Gibraltar. One very dangerous hole where it was impossible to see the players ahead with no bell, mirror etc to indicate their presence. We were sworn at in foul mouthed terms by the group ahead. Half way house was welcome.

A brilliant golf course and a true test of golf far more difficult than the link course but still brilliant in its own way. This was our opening course to this years trip and we all said after the game “if this is what we have to look forward to then we are in for a brilliant week” certainly a course we will be going back to play again

Absolutely breathtaking this course provides some of the best views you will ever see both in and outside of a golf course. A real challenging course from the back tees but fair. We will 100% be going back

Nice course with new clubhouse

A very nice course. Everything is high quality. We compared it to Finca Cortesin that we played last year and Finca is only marginally better in our view.

Loved every minute of it. Staff can't do enough for you. Course was beautiful and in great nick. One minor query is the fact that the buggies we asked to be booked hadn't been. We did manage to get them, but the people after us said there were none left when they tried, so it was a case of disaster averted.

Always a nice place to visit, but certainly a tough test, possibly 1 or 2 to many quirky holes but I guess on that bit of land very large elevation changes are necessary. Clubhouse very good especially the view when you arrive and very good practice facilities. Possibly one of the best halfway stops around with a rather good view.

not a bad course, could tell the difference between this course and the links is night and day if they looked after the heathland as well as the links it would be good but not great course, I would prefer to play the links twice or play a different course in the area.

the best golf course we played out of all the rest we played, absolutely stunning

We were recommended this course by a friend, unfortunately we thought it was too difficult for our standard of golf, another hilly and sloping fairways. Lovely views but not a course we would recommend to high handicappers.

This course is set on the coast line that overlook Gibraltar for the most part. Lot's of changes in elevation add some spice to the layout. The facilities are great and condition of the course is also great. We played the course twice and on each round the wind was completely different and it was like playing two very different courses

Heathlands was good Links was absolutely fantastic but Golf travel messed up the booking and had us on Heathlands twice. Thankfully we persuaded the staff to allow us on Links

After a stormy night, we had the pleasure of playing Hacienda links. Still strong winds which made this a hcallenging experience. Course in good condition even after all the rain

Blowing a 25mph gale on a links course made it a real challenge. It wasn't always clear where to hit second shots. Getting the ball to stop on the greens was tricky and the wind made putting 'interesting'.

Wonderful set up! Wonderful course with stunning views Only very small issue is having to walk to range as buggies can’t access that area, but chipping and putting areas fantastic

What a gem of a golf course. Fairways and greens were in good order especially considering the downpour of rain in the days prior to our round of golf. Beautiful scenery looking out onto the Mediterranean and down to the rock of Gibraltar. Would definitely return.

Absolutely top notch course. Unbelievable views across to Gibraltar from most of the course and some spectacular holes. This ranks in my top 3 courses ever played. Food good in clubhouse and other facilities spot on. Not too busy mid October and would undoubtably play here again.

Not as good as the links course also on site but overall not a bad track. Relatively wide fairways and really beautiful in places.

Having been rearranged (supposed to be playing the Marbella Golf Country Club) this was a let down and not comparable. Also it was clearly neglected ahead of the links course which looked amazing, disappointing we could not get on the links course as an alternative.

Beautiful course , amazing views .

Breezy day made this a real challenge. Great layout. A few blind shots mean easier for those who have been before. Only downside is very visible concrete cart paths (unlike Finca where they seem to be mostly hidden). Good facilities. Fabulous greens, fabulous views down the coast to Gibraltar. Greens a fraction slower and therefore more manageable than Finca.

Simply stunning setting excellent holes. Fairways were treated and sanded so very bare and with wide expansive fairways the buggy restrictions to the path meant for a lot of walking across fairways. Poor timing on our part but really enjoyable and 9th green Bar service was top notch.

Super course again but we were stuck behind 3 x4 Balls of lads at a 21st who were exceptionally slow. Starter could have flagged this I’d have waiters half an hour had a beer and then started. On some tees we were waiting with two other tee times.

Very nice course, great location and views on the course. Halfway house was out of food and no drink/food car throughout.

Beautiful links course - views were stunning - some tricky holes according to my husband who is the proper golfer and I am the novice but I so enjoyed the challenge of the course.

Fantastic views from the course and some excellent holes. We just found the course to be too quirky with a number of elevated shots. Just not our favourite but appreciate many will love it!

Magnificent course with exceptional views along the coast.

Beautiful views to the sea and Gibraltar. We didn’t have a clear day, can imagine it is stunning if the weather is good. Can’t help thinking that this is going to be over developed with all the construction ongoing. There will be a new five star hotel that may be worth a look in the future. Staff werent particularly friendly or helpful.

1st time for us but really enjoyed the course

Played on very windy day so made the course more difficult. Staff were delightful. Most enjoyable day

Greens good overall and, of course fast.There one or two were the ball simply ran off the green and ended up 50 yards away down the fairway - not good for the blood pressure !.

Unfortunately they were conducting improvements to the 'links course' and so we played the heathland course twice. overall the course was in very good condition, greens were very quick considering the rain that we had seen, and the >30 miles per hour wind made an already relatively tough course even more challenging. (hence the hard difficulty rating). would i play it again, yes it was reasonably forgiving although given the long distances between some of the holes and the amount of elevation i would not advise you to walk, a buggy is definitely recommended.

Breathtakingly beautiful location, in great condition but a great test as you really have to ping some of your tee shots into blind fairways.

This course is all about the views of the coast and Gibraltar. Buggy is an absolute must. Not easy with blind holes, inconsistent grass mix in some areas and drainage issues from irrigation - probably a result of being full during the past few months. Overall glad we played it but not sure I would return.

My personal favourite as I loved the spectacular views along the coast to Gibraltar Easy difficulty with a few hard holes. They supplied safe deposit boxes in buggies as common with a lot of the courses in Costa Del Sol area there was potential for items to be pinched from the buggy where they are parked out of your eye line on tee's and greens. Thankfully we didn't have anything taken - but had to be on your guard and meant you couldn't fully relax.

Enjoyable round of golf with great views.

The wind was up when we played it which made it play longer.You need to play this course more than once as you need to hit your ball into the right position and the depth perception on some holes can fool you into thinking it is shorter than you think. Very scenic course with the sea and Gibraltar as a backdrop

Great views of The Rock if no cloud or mist around. Many elevation changes so need a buggy. Tees in poor condition. I would not return to play this course.

We played the Links course.We found it difficult to get onto the par fours in two.largely due to the distance and also the wind which was quite a factor throughout the round.The views from most parts of the course are spectacular over the sea with Gibraltar in the near distance.Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Very hard links course when played for the first time. I would definitely play there again, even though I am not wild about links courses. Excellent shower facilities, which were appreciated as we were going on from the course direct to the airport.

Lovely course with fantastic facilities and views of course to Gibraltar. Super value for money in an expensive area but no "poor cousin" to its superstar neighbours. Thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I have played the Links course before, and it does not disappoint. It is well manicured and has some excellent views and with a incoming sea breeze some of the holes can be quite challenging. We enjoyed the round however there was a big down side. We teed off at 1030 and by the time we reached the 12th tee it was 1435. Basically the two groups of four in front of us could not play golf. One gentleman was playing his shots off the tees like a putting stroke and out of the four players only one seemed capable of getting the ball higher than six feet in the air. To cut a long story short we decided to call it a day after the 13th and came off the course. Alcaidesa either has to check for handicap certificates (which they did not ask for) or employ a course Ranger to monitor the situation and to look at the standard of golf being played.
