What a lovely gem of a course. Starts with a very tricky par 3 and then gets really hard. The staff were amazing and because it is established (1861) it feels like a proper golf club. A real challenge for anyone!

A delightful historic club. Clubhouse full of interesting memorabilia. Another beautiful course. Cross-over holes were a problem making for some safety issues. Not really enough room for some holes, which ideally would be shorter. The blind approach to the par 5 16th green is ridiculous and spoils the legitimacy of a round.

Tree lined course with fast greens, good condition and a good test of golf. Second time of playing this course and would play it again.

Beautiful course, fairways have taken a lot of rain but holding up well, greens 1st class.

Very slow round on an old and established course. Everything felt very tired and the fairways had no real consistency to them ranging from mown clover to lush grass. The course is very pretty with some very tight holes. The green were in very good condition. Some of the cart paths were in very poor condition and the practice facilities very basic in a tight bit of land.

Great course but a slower round than expected due to a very slow group in front of us. Not long but a course you had to think your way around. A good course to walk as only a couple of climbs. Clubhouse and staff couldn’t have been more helpful and an excellent meal afterwards.

The buggy paths were a disgrace. One player injured his back hitting a concealed pothole. This was compounded by there being very limited access to drive on the fairways.

Good course with very fast greens. Lots of different holes with various hazards. Definitely one to play again 👍

Some lovely holes, old style course, not the longest but a nice round. Clubhouse could do with a revamp.

A quirky course but with some interesting holes. Quite tricky walking to tees at times on difficult terrain, rocks, roots etc. Very pleasant afternoon.

Really friendly staff. Course is challenging but interesting. Sometimes the holes cross over each other which is slightly dangerous !

An old course, short but quirky, fun to play. Clubhouse and out buildings need a lot of work on them but staff excellent

A great place to visit and play golf. Very tricky was the description given by the caddie master. Extremely accurate assessment.

Very different to everything else. Maybe the weather, but it felt like a UK course. Tight first 5-6 holes. Course condition very good, but the paths are a real mess and some holes where you need to leave clubs and walk up to tee boxes. They do buggies (not essential given length) but the paths would make it like off-roading. Trolley fine. A few holes to grip and rip, others need placemnet. Clubhouse is old, showered and stored clubs (all good). Food was good. Would return.

Excellent greens,the best we had all week. The course is quaint and quirky and really worth playing. I am sure I would play it differently if I ever return.

The buggy request had not been received but a visit the previous day ensured one was available. A tricky course which would benefit from a second round to understand the layout. Friendly reception.

Extremely tight course. Not much room for error. Nice course. Very well planned out.

We felt this was ‘quirky’ but all 4 of us enjoyed it apart from the holes which are the other side of the road towards the end and in particular one which we all described as ‘silly’ with no idea of where/how we should be trying to play the hole. Not overly busy. Despite the slightly lower marks we would not rule out playing again as it was a pleasant round.

Good time had by both of us great course.
