Lundin Golf Club

Lundin Golf Club is a highly regarded links on the Fife coast, challenging golfers since 1868 and sitting within 20 minutes of St Andrews. It's the sort of place where you'll score better with a plan than with pure power.

Originally laid out by Tom Morris, Lundin was extensively redesigned by five times Open Champion James Braid in 1909, with much of that routing still in place today. At par 71, it's rarely bettered, especially when the wind starts asking questions off the Firth of Forth.

Strategically placed burns, cavernous pot bunkers, firm fairways and greens that reward a tidy short game. Length isn't the main weapon at Lundin. What matters is reading the wind, picking the right line and committing to the shot you've chosen. In other words, play the course that's in front of you, not the one you wish you had.

It's no surprise Lundin is regularly used as a final qualifying venue for The Open Championship when the tournament returns to The Old Course at St Andrews. That Open Final Qualifying status tells you what you need to know, Lundin's no push-over when the wind gets up.
