Favourite course of the week, love the tree lined fairways ! Greens was the quickest too even though was still recovering from some maintenance, superb track and greens !

Lots of trees making course more difficult, November weather good but ideal time for repairs to cart path but didn’t spoil our round

Great course with some great holes. Course is in good condition for this time of the year. As ever all staff we encountered were brilliant.

Great course I great condition. although some work was being done to the course, it did not bother us. Each hole different in design, as it was with the other 2 courses we played . We all had a super holiday, many thanks to all at Your Golf Travel, We will definitely use you again. .

Great golf course. Facilities look a bit dated but clean and functional. Staff friendly and helpful. Pace of play ok. Only complaint is for ladies the red tees are randomly placed on disadvantaged low or side positions and miles forward on par 5’s. Yellows not rated for women. Made the round disconnected in a mixed group.

Unfortunately work being carried out and well needed the Greens and t boxes not up to standard of other courses

4.30 hours is about average for holiday golf. Staff very friendly and helpful Course in good condition for the amount of traffic it gets. Work going on around the course which will improve the overall appearance but it didn’t spoil our round.

Lovely course and worth playing when in Vilamoura you won’t regret it, there was maintenance on the course but it didn’t affect play, a tighter course than Millennium, tree lined and some very picturesque holes. Do it 😳👍🏻 book when in Vilamoura

Same again as Millennium, really enjoyable round.

We arrived to find we were booked in for our 2 tees. The staff did sort this after a while and arranged tees for us as the course wasn't too busy. Disappointed in this tho, caused a problem and anguish but ok in the end.

Although they were putting a new cart track in the course was in great condition apart from the work areas which were gur

Pitch marks all over the greens was awful Groundworks being completed with new paths etc beinb created so a little bug like a building site in places

It’s slow with the hackers, but you’re here to play golf, can always have a beer, laugh with your mates and get some sun while waiting, I do think when the group has lost an entire hole they could let you through however, scuffs and marks on the fairways and greens but it’s battered all day everyday, definitely would come back

Lovely club house with practice facilities and driving range in front of it. The course was tree lined and mostly flat but long with greens protected by bunkers. Buggies needed as green to tee transfers sometimes some way. Greens weren't at there best due to high footfall but ok.

Out of the 3 courses we played, this was the weakest. All of our group agreed if we come back next year we would give this course a miss.

We enjoyed it very much, the course was lovely and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The only complaint is more about the hotel we had to carry our clubs to and from the course!

The course had a lot of work going on to install new cart paths but the actual playing areas were all unaffected. One or two greens were a bit patch but overall it was another great course that we all enjoyed. The club house was fabulous and the lady who looked after us in the pro shop was fantastic. Starter very friendly.

Course is being modified with building and tree pruning and new paths Spoilt the golf a little with the noise

My favourite course out of the three we played. Probably the hardest in terms of difficulty but definitely my favourite. Condition was fantastic and pace of play was excellent, never waiting to take a shot. Highly recommend.

Better day but lost again

Excellent course, in great condition and a real test. Difficult shots off the Yellow Tees with lots of trees, you need to find the fairways. Loved it.

Good facilities and welcoming staff. Round very slow which detracted from the overall experience.

The whole set up is first class at Pinhal. The course is in excellent condition and quite challenging given how tight most of the fairways are due to the numerous trees. It is,a challenging but very interesting course and the greens were excellent. The clubhouse and facilities are superb and the staff very welcoming and helpful.

Harder course than others

Enjoyed the course overall but the number of holes with trees in the middle of fairways seemed a little excessive.

Enjoyed the day, this was our second time playing and it requires hitting the shots in the right place.

A lot of trees and some holes had trees on the fairways itself which makes it a more difficult course than usual.

Due the wet weather earlier in the year. Pinhal was in great condition. We had fantastic weather. The greens were very very good! We had a great time. Prices have gone up across the Algarve which is the only detraction from a such a fantastic area

Lovely course and clubhouse. Good facilities. Always very happy to play here.

Pinhall is always a pleasure.

On most tees, it appears there is plenty of room, but this tree lined course, tested all of our group at some point. Under the tree line, there did not seem much rough to lose a ball, but a few were lost. Later in our round we realised that some of the umbrella type pines were actually so thick they were like 20 yards wide birds nests; looking up, many golf balls could be seen held by the large pine needles. Very testing for most, but a good, enjoyable challenge for our group.

Course with nice mix of tree lined fairways, some blind shots & long par 3's. Need to place drive's in order to maximise the opportunity. Tight course overall.

We found the overall impression from staff was that they could not be bothered. Not overly friendly. If I had a choice would probably not play this course again as it is not in my opinion in the same league as the other Dom Pedro courses.

Liked the course

Very disappointed in the way that we were spoken to about alleged slow play. The steward was extremely offhand and his concerns were both unfair and without basis. We had a group behind us and a group in front of us and played at the same pace as everybody else.

Beautiful clubhouse overlooking putting green and driving range. Tight fairways plenty of trees, greens were a fair pace.

I played Pinhal a few years back and couldn't really remember the course, wow what a gem and will defiantly book to play again, we like most golfers probably play the usual courses, Old, Ocean, Royal or San Lorenzo but I was exceptionally impressed with the course and greens, now one of my favourites in Portugal.

Good course in great condition, the round was slow. About 5 hours.

We found this our hardest , mainly as we played it with a strong wind . some lovely holes , keep out of the trees if you can :) fast greens and not easy to read , but a great challenge .

Pinball was a tough course with tight fairways and lots of umbrella pines which made scoring tough but really enjoyed the challenge, greens were very good, 4hrs 30mins for round which was ok.

Great time on this course. Paired with two members who were great company and enjoyed it. Took us about 4 hours which is what we’d expect, was no rushing or no real waiting other than the odd par 3 which is expected

Very challenging but enjoyable.

Nearly 6hrs following a 1410 tee off. Played last 2 holes in the dusk. Never tee off after 1300 I'm late march

Excellent facilities and great pre round practice. However tee boxes and areas between holes were burnt out, uneven and generally poor. Which is a shame, as the fairways and greens were very good.

Not my favourite course. It was ok but far exceeded by the other courses we played.

Nice course with great facilities. Large driving range, 2 chipping greens, practice bunker and practice green , all nicely located beside the clubhouse. The course itself is a good test but very fair. Greens were very true. Pace of play moved nicely. Definitely play again.

The Pinhal course was fantastic, every hole was beautifully designed, and I don’t think there’s a bad looking one on the course. It was excellently maintained and in great condition. We all found this to be the hardest of the courses we played, though that could be because it was our last day and we were more tired. Despite our bad Stableford scores, we absolutely loved it and would love to play it again. Every hole on this course was a pleasure.

The course is a great layout and in very good condition and challenging in places and opportunities to go after birdies as well. Again the staff very good .

Decent course everyone enjoyed the course next door to hotel.

We started at 3.00 and couldn’t play the 18th due to the lack of light.

We were told when booking that buggies were €50 for the round. Imagine my surprise when they charged us an extortionate price of €60 a round. Going to ask the group for more money each round.

Nice course near to the hotel. Not as scenic as some we’ve played and the clubhouse wasn’t that enticing for an after round meal.

3rd game of the holiday and the courses get better but harder, this was was tree lined and required straight hitting, did okay overall lost 2 balls but another great looking course

My second-favourite after Millennium. Very attractive tree-lined holes. A good challenge. The GPS buggies are great.

Probably the toughest of the three courses played. bit disappointed that only 4 out of six were able to get electric trolleys, which with the speed of the round made it tough going

This was a tricky course, tree lined, doglegs etc. Greens again were really good. It's not in such good condition as Laguna or Millennium and perhaps a little too tricked up. But worth playing once.

Greens very fast, but course in general is excellent

The course was slow and appeared over booked, having been here before i've never had to keep waiting to tee of but did on this course. Ruins the experience for me as it slows the game down. Greens and fairways were good, path and surrounding areas need some attention.

Normal price of Buggys 55 Euros but because Tee Time was after 11. 45 Euros x 6. So between the 4 courses we had to pay 1200 euros extra not good and not even a free bottle of water at 2 of them. I'm afraid we wont be back to Portugal.

Great track. Very tight which made it tough

This course was very impressive. The greens were ironed in the morning before we played and they were like putting on glass! Nothing but good things to say about the whole course in general. Great value for money.

Enjoyed it . However tranfer to our hotel went wrong and we had to organise ourselves. Not the fault of Pinhal.

Same issues as Millenium, we had an even later tee time booked so couldn’t finish the round. No one in clubhouse after so had to sit outside in pitch black darkness which again is really poor, no shuttle back again which really took the shine off the trip. Incomplete rounds of golf / poor

Pinhal is a very enjoyable course which provides enough of a challenge to make for an interesting round. Our fourball really enjoyed the course layout and the condition of the course and facilities

Great golf course. The only one we played off the yellows and glad we did. Requires a lot of well placed shots. Just an amazing good course though! Greens were excellent.

One of my favourite courses but always a test with unforgiving trees and tricky pin positions on the day we played. Also the first course of the weekend and played literally straight from the airport

The greens appeared to have been diseased and were in poor condition on the majority of holes. Tee boxes were being dressed for the winter, which we get but that left small postage stamp boxes in the main at the front that were becoming stressed due to the number divots. It was very slow on the day which can add to frustration of course.

I’m a novice golfer so my opinion may be conflicting with a pro who’d know better but, I found this course challenging without being intimidating. My only criticism would be that the signage for the tees on a couple of holes could be better.

Nice course some challenging holes, I didn’t enjoy it but that was because I played particularly bad!

The round was a little slow at 5 hours but in truth all golfers were very relaxed and enjoying their golf in the sun. No one was rushing which was fine. Club facilities very good though a few greens had too many pitch marks.

Course squeezed into about half of area required. Fairways and trees with very little else. Really narrow Wouldn't go back Round took 4 hours and 40 minutes. Waiting on every tee box and fairway

Pinhal is a very nice course and test.

It’s essentially the Old’s slightly scruffier sibling. It’s got the same character about it, it’s just not as well kept. Also, the greens are tiny so expect to be chipping a lot unless you’re pretty accurate.

Heard really bad reviews of this course in our hotel before playing it and was advised not to bother turning up and requesting a refund so didn’t have very high expectations. However we all thought the course was fine.

Again a great course very tired , nothing spent on the course long grass on the tees , very slow greens no tea information.

The Marshall did nothing about the slow play. A 5 hour round is totally unacceptable and my group will not be playing this course again.

Scruffy course

Tougher course than the Millennium as it felt much tighter and punished you a little more for being off line, although if you end up in the tree line the presence of pine straw instead of long grass gives you a better chance of finding your ball. As with the Millennium course the greens were well paced, but generally a bit tighter on the Pinhal

Good greens but not quite as fast as Millennium. A very slow four ball in front of us who had lost at two or three holes in the group in front. Refused to let us play through and eventually had to the get marshal involved. But a good course with some great practice facilities.

Lots of trees to catch you out. We were behind a 4 four which made it slow to begin with but then we played through and had the course to ourselves.

My comments about Millenium true of Pinhal too - we played it twice but on one we were behind a female 4-ball who were very slow. Plenty of time though to appreciate the scenery and plan shot shape (hook, draw, push, slice and occasionally straight).

Excellent condition in early April. Course was tricky but fair, greens were small and trees were unforgiving. Enjoyed and would play again

Golf in Portugal is expensive but it is worth it to play good well kept courses

Very nice course one of my favorite courses in Faro.

Best course of the 3 we played, (Laguna and Millenium) tree lined so driving and approaches can be hindered by trees if out of position. Played a Texas Scramble with our group of 12 which worked very well as if your driving wasn't solid you would struggle to score.

Trees line the fairways so accuracy off the tee is needed to get the most out of this course. It’s harder than you think, but it is a nice to play course giving a good round of golf.

The greens were not the best, but it was down to lazy golfers not repairing pitch marks. The greens were very soft so held the balls beautifully.

we had 13 golfers at all levels but we all seemed to struggle with the grass fairways.

Very good value for money compared to other Dom Pedro courses played.

Mower broken down and left in the fairway!!! Grass not cut so difficult to play if you didn’t make the fairway. Not as good service with the buggy….had to ask for ice.

Better than Millennium but again tough.

Very nice but we prefer the pinhal coarse my only complaint was hired clubs where not steel shaft very disappointed and cost us lot of distance

The trees can be a real challenge on this. you have to pick your route carefully on some holes. But a great course and a good challenge.

Lovely course, right on Hilton property. Chip putt and driving range which we made use of on the golf rest days! Plenty trees so it pays to be straight, although even the wild shot balls were easy to locate on the well kept undergrowth. Half way house accessible from numberous holes.

Nice course though quite tight in places. Six of us in our group and they didn't allow us to go out as two 3 balls but instead a four and the second two were paired up with two other people which worked out fine for us. With a buggy it worked out as about a 4 hour round.

Don’t under estimate this course some easy and alot of tricky holes really enjoyable

The desk staff were very helpful, in re-arranging a delayed start time issue The distance marker posts are virtually no use, as checking with a rangefinder showed 20-30 yards difference vs their calculation

Nice course, narrow fairways and fast greens

You have to play for position, off the tee, on several holes on Pinhal. Several of the greens are also very small.

Course was excellent, pace of play was good, codition was very good, clubhouse and facilites excellent and all well organised.

Lived up to expectations following a visit a couple of years ago

Overall the course experience was good although clubhouse is looking a little tired as are some of the buggy paths

Another great course

The course was a good challenge for us and was enjoyable to play. The rounds here are slow but that wasn't a surprise. Found it very strange that the clubhouse didn't have many TVs so it made the day just about the golf, rather than sitting enjoying the Masters afterwards. The atmosphere was non-existent. We found the rigidity of the setup off-putting - having paid for 4 rounds in 3 days with buggies, trolleys and high bar bills, we were hoping to nip out for a last 9 holes in the afternoon when the tees were completely empty. However, we were met with a charge of €69 each for 9 holes with zero effort to accommodate. We didn't bother and would look for better value for money courses in future

Greens on day one we’re poor but Saturday excellent. Trees just gobbled the balls 😂. There were so dense in the canopy. There was so many of them too. Great challenge though.

Played this course many times but its never been in better condition than in 2022. Really good!

Courses were great we all enjoyed it a lot

The least favourite of the two that i played, no etiquette from the golfers in front, we were waiting on every single hole from the tee and then usually the 2nd or 3rd shots as well. Playing many of times before i was surprised that the Marshalls didnt intervene as it was clear they lost at least 1.5holes. We were warned by the taxi driver that this course is usually the slowest around Vilamoura

The course seems to be suffering from over play, have played this course many times before and never seen the tees and greens so poor, but still a gem of a course.

As with the old course, this has a great layout loved it and will definitely play this course again, also hard but fair. 👌

We enjoyed our rounds here although the pace of played could have been improved due mainly to the standard of players ahead ignoring the fact we constantly waited. Whilst this didn’t spoil the experience it could have helped if the Cours Marshall took action when he could clearly see the issue.

We would always choose pinhal but make sure you are ok with trees, there are plenty!

Tee's were not the best that I have sent this course maybe due to the end of the season golf??

WE had a late in the day tee time, so greens had really suffered through the day. Tees were quite poor in places but generally course was fine, and challenging

shame the bar wasn't open on the course, the trees were very challenging

Time Policed the whole way round, packed course, high pressure and verged on not enjoyable…all due to double starting on 1st and 10th to make more money

Course is looking a little tired and could do with some major renovation. However, given the usage of the course its fine for average golfers.

Played here many times and will be looking forward to playing here again.

Pinhal is a nice course and we all enjoyed it. However we were booked in to Milenium that day and when we arrived there it was shut (the booking voucher showed millenium as the transfer but Pinhal as the golf... a bit confusing!) Luckily Pinhal was just next door so we managed our tee time no problem

Very poor. Painfully slow and no course marshalls to assist. Players showed zero etiquette to allow play through. Course itself, whilst in good condition, is pretty ordinary with no outstanding or challenging holes. I would not return and recommend taking this off the package offered for the Algarve. It was a waste of money.

First time we have played Pinhal for a while and thought that the quality of the greens and course overall was excellent.

Long walk between holes and over roads so if not good at walking take a buggy. The course was in good condition and the greens a little slower than the other courses. Still a good course.

Long course, long distance between each hole. Sometimes not sure which direction to head for the next hole

Course has clearly had too much traffic, and needs some TLC. Greens and Fairways were not what we’d expect from such a well renowned course. Pace of play was also far to slow.

One of my favourite courses in Vilamoura which I have played several times. However this time it appeared in need of a bit of care and attention as quite a number of the holes had a number of divots. Having said that I would certainly play it again as a good challenge for my handicap of 13

Having visited and played the course twice last year I would definitely rate it as our favourite course. The majority of the group scored favourably on the two occasions we played on it this year. Although heavily tree lined, I would say it offers a challenge to any golfer and is well worth a visit.

We bumped into Paul Lawrie on this course so it’s quite famous for professional competitions Like most courses it’s a different beast off the whites. Needless to say we played yellow and red. We enjoyed the course and was lucky with the weather as the forecast had showers We would definitely return to this one

Nice course which is often described as the poor relation of the Dom Pedro course. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Suits the accurate golfer as the trees are merciless

Enjoyable

The course was in good condition however some of the fairways had large numbers of infilled divots. This is probably a result of the high foot traffic and occasional golfers rather than poor management

Course wasn’t the best I’ve seen it

A very mature tree lined course. Couldn't fault the greens and fairways. This course rated number two out of the three courses that we played. You definitely need a golf buggy for this course as there is some distance from green to tee box on some of the holes.

Stunning Golf course.

A lovely setting with some challenging but enjoyable holes. The new terrace on the side of the club house enhances the 19th hole experience.

Very enjoyable. Flowed well. No issues in getting buggies for our 9am tee time but seemed to be a shortage at 1.45 as we finished. Helpful staff. Good bar/restaurant.

Enjoyable round.

Hard to fault the condition of the course and the difficulty will vary for all groups. We have a lot of higher handicap players and we averaged 29 points.

I have played Pinhal many times and the course is looking tired. Its a nice course but will be giving it a miss on our next trip, the pace of play was extremely slow taking us 2 hours to play 6 holes and the marshals did not attempt to move pace along, Sorry Pinhal

Found course very tricky with correct ball placement off the tee required on most holes. Greens slower than other courses. Enjoyed the test on offer. Found it fascinating that the course is played through the town. The only real negative was the amount of people on the course. It was packed with a 5 to 10 minute wait on every shot which meant a round of 5 hours. I saw 11 golfers on 1 tee. Surely this can be better time managed

2nd best to millennium,another tight course,a 5 iron is perfect to tee off most holes on this course greens and fairways brilliant,

course well looked after. in general the green fees were quite expensive. even vila sol was over the top on price, very good otherwise.

Very nice course to play.

We didn’t have the best of starts. We were a group of 6 playing as two 3’s throughout our break, playing as teams as well as individuals. They insisted that two unknow players were to join us, making us two 4’s, thus abandoning our team competition. After a heated conversation we managed to get it resolved. Decent course, but really tight, some of the trees are ridiculously located. The greens were good and more receptive.

We have played this course three times and it is a good course regarding difficulty to finish on.

Enjoyable golfing experience even for a high handicaper like me. Tree lined fairways and doglegs. For the good golfer with drives that are true it would not be that difficult.

I enjoyed this course. I accept that there had been heavy rainfall the night before but there was a lot of standing water and the greens were all over the shop. one would be ridiculously fast then the next really slow. It was difficult to get a rhythm going.

lovely course but was paired with a couple who were extremely slow... I think handicaps should be paired up a bit better so play can flow better

Very nice course however the greens seemed tired. Nice to have a refreshment hut halfway round. Like the other courses stay out the water and you will always have a shot.

greens were in a very poor condition. really dissapointed

Enjoyed the course with a good variety of holes but was disappointed with the fairways as these were quite wet which lead to a lot of mud balls.

The buggie situation was a shambles, pack them and stack them situation with players. Will not go back again.

Great golf but disdappointed that our 3 T itimes for 10 people resulted in 2 add on players ...which kinda of ruined our usual game format

cannot pre-book buggies, therefore it's a gamble if you want to book whilst you are there, no buggies some players were walking and with a group of 16 player walking split the group up, therefore the course was very slow, as it's a long walk between green and tee, been here 3 years on the trot wouldn't return, service is poor and gone backwards, over crowded the course and staff don't care!

No problems with pace of play The grass on fairways did not seem secured to under surface

Expensive for the standard of the course

No shortage of pine trees on this one If you get out of position it’s a guaranteed dropped shot So you really need to plot your way round if you are going to score Other than that it was in great condition

Greens were good about average speed.fairways and tees were excellent.Enjoyed playing this course some very good holes. Still too expensive. Like the other courses buggies were very expensive

Don't play if you don't want a challenge. You will get blocked out by the trees but you can still make par...

Waiting to take shots due to slow play first round was frustrating,it improved the second round people seemed to struggle with the trees slowing things down. Some nice holes.
