The 18 hole, Par 71 signature course was designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, who followed a sustainable vision to complement and enhance the natural landscape.
The two 9-hole loops are set in different terrain with the front nine playing out at the foot of sweeping hillside banks, golfers will find the opening holes an easy walk with contoured greens and undulating fairways.
The back nine starts with a breath-taking panorama of the course spread throughout an idyllic river valley. Playing along the twisting rivers and streams, golfers must decide when to cross or when to gamble and when to play safe.

Great experience again. Only downside was the very slow round. We finished the final hole in almost darkness and there were still groups behind us. We contacted the pro shop to let them know it was very backed up but never saw a course marshal the whole round.

Lovely spectacle, but an extremely difficult course. Staff were not very friendly, nor helpful

We played a Texas Scramble on Ombria. It was tight on the opening 9, and may have been tough for some of our members had we been playing our own golf ball.

Short off the tips but tight. Awesome course which we will play again next year. The setting is beautiful, the layout is testing and condition considering the amount of traffic was really good.

A nice course. A slightly odd layout at times as you are playing up the 8th and people are playing off an elevated first tee. Thankfully no hook shots experienced.

Course was great second time we have played, little things like the buggy bar spoilt it a little bit €10 a can stunning golf course.

Visually spectacular but quite tight

Would not recommend for groups of 20 or more. Strict ranger anti having music in the buggies or keeping buggies to check in on matches behind you
Paul
✓22 Sep 2025
It wasn’t in as good of condition from last year. Greens were a bit tired after a weekends play we played late Monday and you could tell maybe give people free pitch markers
Paul
✓13 Sep 2025
A course-of two nines, front nine quirky with a couple of high hill climbs. Back nine easier. Course in great condition from tee to green. Negatives: No driving range and Buggies are a must.
Glen
✓11 Sep 2025
Amazing course, will definitely play again, eating and drinking facilities were not as good as most other courses.
Terry

Really enjoyed playing the course and would definitely go back and play it again. Not the longest but offers a different experience from the norm in Portugal , the front nine is particularly challenging but very enjoyable.
Eddie

Excellent course which has matured well since last year. Again lovely views.
Alan
✓5 Sep 2025
An odd golf course. Two very different nines. Front 9 is mad playing off cliff tops, round corners and over water. Back 9 much flatter.

This is a great new addition to Algarve golf. A group of 8 with handicaps ranging from 5-20. We played off “58” tees to give 6200 yard course. Too difficult with 3-4 200 yard carries to fairway off the tee. Suggest “53” tees next time. Course is in excellent condition, great views.

Welcomed to a fantastic clubhouse. Up there with the best around. Course layout and condition was great although it does feel a bit of a slog up and down and the beer buggies were non existent which left a couple of groups really struggling without water which took away from their experience. Lack of driving range only downfall on facilities and putting green was a long way away from first tee. Greens still maturing but really good shape

✓23 Jun 2025
tough track but very enjoyable, best views of my holiday on the curse itself, loads of water on the front nine, none on the back but all very challenging holes in their own right did not receive 5 stars for 2 reasons, no practice driving range and no ice bucket on the buggy when the temperature was 37 degrees

A course really made up of 2 nines it appears. The first nine is very hilly with some strange hole set ups and not that enjoyable. Back 9 far nicer. Not a patch on Monte Rei though.

Loved this course, 2nd time we've played it, holes 3,4 and 5 shut for safety reasons. Will be returning, if you go you will not be disappointed. Receptionist states we will get half green fee's refunded due to the 3 hole's being closed.

The new course in the Algarve and well worth the travel from the usual courses. The greens were exceptional and possibly the best I have ever played on. The greens are very large and undulating, which made scoring tricky, but great fun. The layout is stunning and some of the holes are breathtaking with the wow factor. I’d love to play this course again and hopefully play a little better next time 😃

My review reflects the immaturity of the course but it was excellent. The weather created a few challenges and the course on the front nine was marred by weather and there was a fair bit of maintenance. But it didn’t detract and was understandable.

the whole concept did have the right vibe for us at all. have to park without guidance, trying to find your way to go up by elevator somwhere in the garage. there is no driving range and the course is nice but the layout is strange and thr oruing is just off. worse things however is that there is no marshall to get things going: we stopped at hole 17 after 5 hours + as we were fed up with it: waiting every single hole for the flight (2 ahead of us) and nobody to speed them up because as they said (we are with only 2 people today... disappointing experience and it is not even cheap to play here

Considering the weather conditions we ended up having a great day. Again all the staff very helpful. The clubhouse didn't hold much stock. Started our round on the 10th hole, for some reason, which was the easier 9 holes. Hopefully one day will get back and play it in good weather and better condition.

✓24 Mar 2025
Very interesting layout - we did get shunted about - starting at the 16th hole and then had groups pushed in mid round which slowed things down. A young course - a little scrappy in parts but a good layout difficult terrain.

Just fantastic and a real change from other courses. We got stuck behind a 3 ball who just had no idea about letting faster groups through (weird) but after we got passed them just loved it. My hole in one on 17 really was the icing on the cake !

✓12 Nov 2024
A bit quirky for the first five holes felt like crazy golf . Much better after that although some holes access from buggies to greens was sometimes down a grass bank that needs steps . Wouldn't want to play here again.

Wow what a course the hardest course I have played , Would love to play it again, The rain shower we got for about 40 mins affected the round . Overall Fabulous.

✓30 Oct 2024
Loved this golf course (we played it twice) and loved the warm welcome from the staff. Ten minute tee offs mean that the course is not racked and packed which is essential since the front nine is pretty tricky. Ombria is out of the way and I do wonder how long they can maintain the current standards if revenue is below expectation, however, at the moment, this is a stellar choice.

The front 7 holes are just too quirky and as a result of the design you need a buggy, so for those that like to carry it really does'nt work
Michael
✓20 Oct 2024
there has been a lot of good things said about Ombria before I got there and from the approach roads driving in to the final drinks at the bar this was a special experience. Absolutely mesmerising. The front 9 were outstanding with amazing changes in elevation and stunning looking holes, trouble everywhere, water, trees rocky outcrops however it is very playable as it is relatively short and so if you are straight off the tee you rarely have more than a wedge in on the 6 par 4's, the 6 par 3's are all special in their own way and the 5's a challenge if you play off the back tees which I would recommend for anyone who plays around single figure. Ombria will stay in the memory as a fabulous experience.

✓18 Oct 2024
Fabulous course Only 1 complaint no food available if an earlier tee time and the food trolley comes out after 10 and is very expensive

Matthew
✓14 Oct 2024
A wonderful new course for us. Some stunning tee shots, although greens too soft so many pitch marks. Buggies essential but very good tech on them. A must-play course
Anthony
✓14 Oct 2024
Unfortunately we were rained off after 11 holes which then caused the club bar to be overcrowded and excessively noisy
Martin
✓14 Oct 2024
A new development. Spectacular course with some amazing elevated tees. Not easy but very enjoyable. Beware club house prices for just about everything. Way too expensive and a complete turn off for returning next year. Also, after a long round, playing through lunch time, we got in to the club house to be told no food: chef had gone home! Totally unacceptable for a course attempting to portray itself as the jewel in the Algarve crown.
Scott
✓10 Oct 2024
What a great course, with two very different 9's which keep it interesting. Magnificently carved in to the ravine the front 9 is a real challenge of accuracy, where as you have a little more room on most of the back 9 (but still not easy!). Greens were are a little scared from traffic, but run true and didn't diminish from the experience. Highly recommend!
John

No driving range. Marshalls on the officious side. We played half an hour faster than the course standard but were still hurried along. Setting of the resort stunning. May return when they have proper warm up facilities and I'm a better golfer. to enjoy this course you really need to be sub 10.

✓10 Jun 2024
Front 9 is very up and down as built in the mountain with average speed greens, but signage to tees not great. ( please don't walk it crazy distance from tee to greens on front 9 ) plus take plenty of balls. Back 9 is flat and greens very quick. It is like 2 different 9 hole courses, completely different lay out and pace of greens.

What can I say about this great wee course. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was amazing. Such a nice warm welcome on arrival, the staff were 10/10 and value your custom, you don't just feel like a number. The bar/restaurant area was very nice with a huge balcony area to sit and have a beer with great views over the first few holes. The food was great and there's plenty of big TVs on the wall showing all the sports. The course was amazing tbh, alot of different shots you have to think about and looking out off the tee box you can't help but think how beautiful and well manicured the course was. Giving it's location it was lush and green and just really well looked after, you can tell the place is going to be good and they are aiming high for the future. Would highly recommend any level of golfer to play this course, it will get you thinking about every shot but also the surroundings and condition of the course was amazing. 10/10 would return anyday to play this course again. It felt like a much more premium experience than the Amendoeira resort I'd say it was miles a head of both the Faldo and O'Connor. The way we felt about the Ombria course is what we felt our trip was going to be like but only the Ombria course delivered on that! Book up for this course now!

A new course and in fabulous condition. The layout is a little quirky. A little Piccadilly Circus around holes 3/4/5. Not a long course but very tight. Liked how they have gone away from colour coding the courses and used the distances e.g. 49, 54 etc indicating 4,900 m and 5,400m - Think this might well catch on as more clubs in the UK move to gender neutral tees
