Quinta do Lago Laranjal Course

This course was great, highly recommended. Excellent condition, some tricky tee shots, lots of sand and water. Impressive scenery all around. Would play this course again for sure

Nice course with lovely holes

This was our favourite course. Loved the way it was set up, greens were great, variety of holes and terrain. Nice clubhouse too. Only -ve was the idiotic play of the bloke behind us who kept hitting ball’s right behind us or on to the green while we were still putting out. We could only go as fast as the group in front of us.

Great course and conditions, but too many tee times allocated. Waited for every shot with 4 groups on 1 par 5 at one point. Real shame as otherwise a great experience. Plus 5 hour round

Very enjoyable round of golf. The greens were in fantastic condition. Driving range and practice facilities were superb. Clubhouse facilities (especially the changing rooms / toilets were poor). I would play here again though as the golf course is superb and in great condition.

Very impressed!!! Fantastic condition, best of all the the courses by far. Very interesting layout and seemed more spaced out between groups. Much better now that they have switched the 9's around so you n ow tee off on what use to be the 1oth to start. Highly recommended.

Far more open than the North and South. Some very good holes but I wasn’t blown away by it.

Arrived early and good welcome received. Took out luggage and got us set up. Bar was good with lovely area to sit out and watch players finishing up on 18th. Round itself was slow but that was case for all three rounds. Course is enjoyable with good variety.

Decent course

Greens had been top dressed not long before we had played. Did not take away for the overall game and the course was immaculately prepared everywhere else.

Fantastic courses at Quinta do Lago. Tricky but forgiving if you stray off the fairway. Quite long holes so not ideal for a beginner. Buggy prices are always an annoyance (60/50 Euros). Fabulous courses to play, though.

Up with the best

A fantastic course let down only by pace of play but even at 5 hours it didn’t actually feel that bad. Great service on and off the course. Course condition was superb. An easier track in terms of play and on layout. Off one green and on to the tee unlike say Ombria and Monte Rei where your driving loads in between. Overall a great course without having the wow factor or memorable holes

Round got really slow on front 9, 20 minute delay. Big groups out - maybe Marshall stealth with it as it sped up on back 9 so all good. Facilities not as extensive as South or North but fine for a pre round warm up and food and drinks

I enjoyed Laranjal the most, it helped I played well. The course itself was stunning and prettier to look at in my opinion, compared to the North Course. Everything felt a little less professional compared to the North, small pro shop, tatty signage and the rangers were young and amateur compared tot he pro on the North. I did love it though and probably my favorite of the whole trip.

too many people on the course made it a 5.5 hour round.. so half of our group left after 9 holes as we were running late for our evening reservations. This was the only point to mark things as 'could be better'.

A better timed round this year. It did get backed up on the back 9 but that wasn't until the last 4 holes. Greens were quick and undulating. Course was in good condition as usual. It's a shame the club house lacks the gravitas of the course. Would be nice if you didn't have to pay for the range balls as well.

Good test of golf for amateurs. Fairways and greens were in superb condition!

Always top draw been playing it for years - they only challenge is the slowness! Starts par 4 then par 3 creates a bottleneck! However cannot change back as the 18th is a great finishing hole!

They sent groups off at 8 minute intervals the day we played and with a 2pm tee time, we were held up at every shot for a 5 hour 10 minute round. There were no marshals on the course trying to keep people going. The course is in very good condition and played nicely.

Really nice golf course. Nice to feel like you are on a golf course and not have to drive across roads or round numerous villas to get to the next tee. Really enjoyable track. Practice your bunker shots before you visit!

Lovely course but so slow. 5 hour+ rounds not ideal.

This personally was my favourite course although the weather did it’s very best to ruin the round with torrential rain for the first six holes when some people walked in due to how bad it was. The course stood up to the rain very well and the greens were excellent.

An excellent course, but not as good as the North and South. The facilities here are good, but again, not as good as those on the north and south. Maybe we were spoiled, but the general consensus was that when we return, we will play, north, south and one of the vale de lobo course.

did not play Laranjal but played QDL North due to a mistake but that course is fantastic like QDL South. surroundings are not as nice as South but still one of the nices courses out there

Great golf course with fast greens

Great course - windy conditions and more exposed than the others we played. However really can't fault it - though again it had shipped a lot of water.

Quite simply the best golf course I’ve played in Portugal. Fantastic design, immaculate condition, could’ve picked from 14 holes as their signature. Loved it and will be returning.

Clubhouse is a bit lacklustre - on busy days it would be almost impossible to get a drink or food as its very small. I had a lovely burger before my round but it was a quiet day

We love this course. Getting there via the back roads is a bit hairy though. We were able to go out as a two ball and we’re around in under 4 hours.

Laranjal is stunning. My preference of the courses. Easy on the eye - but not on the scorecard. A total joy to play!

Rained all the time and could only complete 12 hole as lightening and thunder forced us off the course

Unfortunately we were playing with 2 golfers one of whom had only ever played 2 games of golf and was a non golfer. They were very pleasant people however but despite starting on time at 12.40 we didn’t get to finish because of darkness which is at about 5.45 We had not booked for twilight golf. It was extremely slow due to buggies on the cart path only and 8 minute intervals starting.

Just a great course to play, helped by getting a hole in one on the par 3 8th. Would have been better if we could have driven buggies on the fairways - my ball always seemed to end up on the opposite side of the fairway to the path. Sand in the bunkers were excellent.

Course in good condition and pace of play was about right.

Would happily visit again. Recommended

Amazing course. A very good challenge and around 4.5 hours for 18 holes. The 7th in particular was awesome.

Unfortunately we got absolutely soaked and only played 9 as it was so slow due to the conditions, I have played it before and it is a fabulous golf course but couldn't see it through the rain this year.

This course is a beauty, simple as that. Everything about this course is fantastic, from the tee-boxes, to bunkers to the immaculate greens. Its a great course to play, with some incredible holes. This is on my top 10 favourite courses in the world.

Great range, short game and putting green. Practice green was much quicker then the course greens,they were still in great condition just slow. Some interesting par 5s that required some thoughts across 2 water hazards! Another great course, only downside was pace of play, really congested on front 9.

Best course I’ve played love Larajal the facilities are great only one issue bus driver turned up early even though we told him transport was booked for 19:30

What a fantastic golf course. Condition was excellent. Greens true and fast. Staff are super helpful and whole experience was 5 star. Lots of water and bunkers! Play was a little slow as long par 3 second is tricky and was backed up which had a knock on effect on most of the front nine. Round was 4.5 hours. Very good practice range which included bunker and chipping area but balls are not complementary.

Nothing wrong with the course, always in great nick, clubhouse could do with an uplift

Beautiful Course

Fairly open course with lots of holes on top of each other which created lots of 'fores' I had a great score which made it all the better but in fairness the clubhouse/bar is pretty insignificant but ok for a quick drink after play

We played our three ball (again advised there would be a fourth, did not turn up)

Took us over 5.5 hrs as a two ball to complete the round. Too many were on playing the course so pointless asking to play through, condition was excellent but very frustrating waiting so long every hole.

The best of the 3 courses in my opinion . Long course but would love to play it again .

A nice track. You can get yourself into trouble, but quite forgiving on most holes. I always find myself repairing pitch marks on resort course greens - so same comment for all 3 courses played.

The golf was fine but our tee times were bumped by half an hour and the pace of play was very slow, as a result our final group hadn't finished playing when the transfers came to collect us. Too rushed!

Tee times too close together so 5 hour round. Marshalls not doing anything about it. A round takes too long and therefore spoils the experience

Love Laranjal, course was immaculate and stunning as always no houses just surrounded by orange trees

This was a real surprise, what a great course in superb condition. A challenge off the gold tees but fair. We went on to play Quinta do lago north and south but this was easily in th best condition

As an older group we played off forward tees but the course was a very good challenge. Two dog leg par 5s with water were particularly good tests. Greens were fast.

A fantastic course. Challenging but playable for all handicaps. We thought it the best of the three Quinta courses, as did the people we played with, who ranged from +1 to 30 handicaps. It’s an interesting trek down back lanes to get there in ‘rush hour’ but we’ll worth it!

To me this course is just fantastic. Practice facilities immaculate and the condition of the course just perfect. All I can say is anyone coming to play golf in the Vilamoura area should make sure that they have a round at Laranjal, on a warm sunny day in November just bliss!!

Tough course, good looking but nothing spectacular like other courses in the area. Slow round (4'45") with no intervention from marshalls to speed things up - we were nearly unable to complete the round before nightfall. The course is next to a swamp, so around sunset, we had to play through a swarm of aggressive mosquitos, which was not very pleasant

One of our favourites. Beautifully designed, no houses to spoil your views over the course. Trees lining fairways and rough very short. Much more playable. Buggies cart path only but course dry, seems to be standard Quinta practice in late October. Orange trees everywhere and planty of water hazards. Bunkers the best we'd played. Smaller clubhouse but staff accommodating.

We arrived at the course at 11.30 despite our tee time of 2.40 .hoping to get off early but the starter would not let us slot in although others were late arriving for their tee time due to the early rain everyone was pushed back to play very annoying .This resulted in my group only playing 14 holes .I did point this out to your staff when I was given this tee time .I urge you to STOP offering such late tee times to your customers under false pretences

All the courses are tough at QDL. Laranjal gets better each year. Tough stunning and a real test.

What a fantastic golf course with great pre round practice facilities. We were greeted by staff that took our bags to buggies. Golf course was in perfect condition. Definitely will play again.

Beautiful course. Some challenging holes with quite a lot of water hazards. Spectacular but challenging final hole. Different to the north/south courses nearby and you can see many other holes while you are playing which is enjoyable. Relaxed club house. Short distances from green to tee and no need to cross roads to get to holes. Highly recommended.

Great day's golf, for a relatively new course, this was very impressive. Best greens I've putted on for a long time, both inland or links, condition through-out was faultless. The course is more open & less undulating than the others, a really good alternative to the other courses in Quinta.

Played the gold tee and felt the slope was a fair reflection matching our handicaps. Course was in top condition.

Tough course but quite open given the maturity of the course. But the condition was immaculate and some of my group had this as their favourite course of the trip and I can see why

Unless you don't mind a good walk in very hot temperatures, buggies on all courses are a good idea; there are some pretty lengthy walks between some of the holes. Also, given that most golfers there seem to use them, you would have people pushing you along if you don't have one. This is the newest of the three courses and whilst very enjoyable, we ranked it third out of the three we played. It felt like the "satellite' course of the three and whilst the clubhouse and other facilities were not on a par with the North/South course, they were perfectly adequate.

Organisation at the bag drop was a shambles. Due to a complete shortage of buggies we were told we couldn't collect our buggies until 10 minutes before our tee time. Returned 15 minutes before the find they had loaded up a party of 12 with 6 buggies who had a later tee time. at our tee time still no buggies, we eventually arrived a the tee angry and 10 minutes late. Wouldn't recommend Larenjal as golfers would be disappointed after experiencing the South and North courses.

Perfect for a a group of varied handicaps . The course was nicely tree lined up the condition was very good - I was impressed by the layout .

didnt care how long it took to play as slow play infront just gave me more time and an excuse to take how breathtaking this course is it simply is unbelievable have to see it with your own eyes to appreciate it to its full pictures do not do this course justice and yes i see the same pictures as you did on google simply astounding will 100% be coming back time and time again thanyou to laranjal and to the shuttle trips from hotel to courses our driver was brilliant ambassador for the company and for tourists like me i think his name was Jay highly recommend him made me feel like a vip and im terrible at golf so testament to him and the company

Really enjoyable 9 holes BUT REALLY annoyed out tee off time booked only allowed my children and I to play 9 holes before getting back to hotel and then onto airport so short changed and was not a good end to the holiday

Brilliant new greens and fairways since our last visit. Love the little club house with shop and bar. New layout with the old 9th now the 18th which is a great finishing hole. One of the groups favourite courses. We will back for a 4th time.

The course was in fantastic condition in fact the best I have seen. The round always starts off slow because of the tricky par three which is hole 2. I am not sure why there was a need to reconfigurate the course but apart from that everyone enjoyed the day.

Enjoyed the course but back 9 holes very slow due to other players cutting in front of us at the 10th hole.

Simply fabulous. A beautifully manicured course and you can have taken photos from anywhere on the course and got a spectacular picture. The white sand and treelined fairways are a feature. Would definitely go back again.

What was the 10th tee is now the first - whole course has recently been swopped over, so you’ll need to update your Garmin software. A really tough front 9, bunkers and ditches everywhere and very, very fast greens. Four putting almost the norm. Second 9 more forgiving in every respect. Immaculately maintained.

Course was in magnificent condition, the greens were superb. We were supposed to be picked up from our hotel at 08.00, the QDL arranged transfer did not appear until 08.35 which didn’t leave us a lot of time to warm up and get organised. The director of golf was very apologetic and offered us complimentary range tokens, complimentary pull trolleys and a round of drinks for 8 when we finished. So no complaints from us for the the way they responded and handled the situation

2nd time playing this course and was in perfect condition. Greens were perfect and pace of play spot on. Unfortunately food service not available as chef had family emergency so left early to get lunch elsewhere. Normally open otherwise I believe.

The pick of the bunch (we played Vale do Lobo both and Quinta Do Lago north), only 12 years old, but a fantastic lay out, bunkers define the course, really worth playing very friendly small club house, a great experience

Not your typical Algarve course as a lot more open than the originals built there. Good experience, in great nick with extremely helpful staff.

i think the change of the loops is a real positive though there are still issues on the 6th and 7th on the outer loop which remain slow but this wasn't an issue as speed of play on the rest was excellent.

More open than some of the others played and very little rough but still challenging. Soft greens.

It took us 45 mins to play 2 holes. They have changed the course so the long par 3 is now the second course and this is the root of the problem.

Really poor overall experience. The clubhouse was inadequately staffed which made obtaining food and drink before the round difficult. The course itself was rammed with 2/3 groups on each hole. The round took 5 hours 35 minutes and despite our request three times we never saw one course ranger. We had booked and paid for 6 buggies but they had only 5 of them, they promised to bring the first available one out. They did not until we complained and eventually delivered it after six holes. The greens were the worst of the four courses, slow and bumpy which is poor for peak season. As a result of our 5 hour 35 minute round, our buses had arrived to take us back to the hotel whilst we had two groups still on the course. Pity as a stunning golf course, really poorly managed.

Stuck behind a very slow fourball which held the whole course up but a lovely finishing course for us, free buggies always a bonus.

Very slow round waiting on every shot. For some reason the club allowed a couple out in front of us with a beginner getting lessons from her partner. Really slow on every shot. They had to let a four ball through which illustrates how slow they were

The round took over 5 hours 20 minutes we had to wait on ever shot. This is the second successive plus five hour round. I will never go again.

Best presented course in the area, in view view!

A fine course with several tricky and interesting holes. Only the first and last holes were a little bland, the others being challenging and/or thought-provoking. Lovely surroundings and fine views on almost every hole.

This course gets better and better! It’s a tough course and a good examination of your game.

It's a few years since we last played this course and we were amazed at how much it has improved. It was in excellent condition and had a very well cared for appearance. The free drink was a welcome touch.

The golf kept moving at good pace,the course is beautiful the staff very nice.Had to pay 35 euros for taxis to course was expecting this to be included,was I wrong.

Goidciurse in decent condition

Quite simply stunning. An open links style course with a number of greens in reach in regulation for the average player. The greens were superb and fast with many undulations making them tricky but so enjoyable. A modest clubhouse with the biggest of welcomes with free pencils, tee pegs, logo-ed pitch mark repairers and two first drinks. A “must play “ !

This for us is the best out there at the moment, each hole offers an individual challenge and has something to offer as you stand on the tee. Perfect condition as usual everything is spot on. Greens never let you down.

Great course for all handicaps

Overall, a great experience.Relatively lower grades on facilities because they are limited in scope, but basically that is needed cf Kingsbarns.As to value for money, games in the Algarve are relatively expensive, hence the grading.We were a two ball and the course was fairly busy with three and four balls, although we got round in under four hours; we did wait to play most shots. Thought course was in excellent condition, staff very helpful and clubs the latest - as usual, no senior shafted clubs - a perennial issue for me and a general one at all of these courses.

Great course, with wide fairways (mainly) and large greens. Excellent condition. Small locker room if there are a group of you.

We were placed directly behind a pro am! We walked off after 9 holes and 4 hours-crazy to allow bookings. A lot of people were unhappy. Thankfully, we were able to rebook for 2 days later and the golf manager was very amenable in providing a fresh round but other people did not have this luxury. This is a great course for mid to low handicappers, greens are fast and tricky. Practice facilities are a short walk from the course and better than the north/south course.

Superb facility

Very playable and in very good condition. The best of the 3 quinta course. Played in 4 hours and 15 minutes which is good for playing abroad.

Really great course but then we played the South Course which was a real wow to play, hence only giving four stars to Laranjal

A very slow round, wouldn’t be our favourite course to play again

One of the slowest rounds of our holidays - usually 3 groups on each hole. course superb and in great condition. one of best courses in the area....A must play

Greens had be treated and sand on them. We think that we should of been compensated ie. reduced buggie fee.

5.5 hour round, staff were unhelpful and rude. Greens were poor as they had been hollow tuned and sanded the previous day.

Not the greatest facilities at Laranjal, but the staff more than make up for it with their pleasant and helpful attitude. Well done guys.

5 hrs 15 mins was way to slow but we all liked the course it definitely had its challenges
