Worst day ever. So slow with pro am on

It is a fantastic course and gets better as the round develops. The back 9 is amazing, especially around the lake and the lagoon. Rivals Laranjal - very different style but together they are amazing courses.

Another enjoyable round at Quinta South. Only minor criticism is they are always doing maintenance and the staff don’t seem to care they’re in your line. Tree planting on the 17th by the green made the approach trickier than usual. Still recommend it though. And going off the 10th early was great as had the back 9 all to ourselves.

In great condition, a bit harder than Laranjal but not impossible. The fairways were a bit narrow.

Overall experience very enjoyable. Staff very friendly. Lovely food in the clubhouse. Driving range excellent. Practice green beside 1st tee was poor and not in great condition. Overall we were a bit disappointed in the greens (slow and bumpy due to traffic). A beautiful golf course and would definitely Play here again.

Good course if you want to test yourself! Difficult but not frustratingly so. The QDL resort is fantastic.

Top class lay out and great condition. However very slow due to the 2 tee start so people teeing off on the first after playing 9 holes then delays all of the tee times

Excellent course and clubhouse facilities

This was very poor in terms of allowing too many tee times. We were due to tee off at 1.12 and didn’t get going until 1.50. We were over 3 hours to the turn. Then it opened up and quicker back 9. Supposedly due to them shotgun starting groups on Holes 1&10. There were 3 groups on tee boxes regularly throughout the front nine. Really takes away from the experience and leaves you feeling its greed by the complex ramming so many folk on. Although a brilliant course the experience was enough to sway us not to return to these courses which is a shame as they are great fun to play. Not too punishing.

The south course has really improved his upkeep and the refurbishment from a few years ago has Now completely settled. That combined with the clubhouse facilities, gives a wonderful experience

The best of the three we played in my opinion. The whole experience from check-in to the course condition and the terrace restaurant/bar is terrific. Considering how much play this course gets, it was immaculate. 5 stars all round.

Stunning course

The starter rushed us on the greens saying the course was busy. He wasnt lying we waited on every hole. 6hour round. The drinks were expensive, you need to stock up playing the round. The course was good, but wouldnt rush back.

Best of the QDL courses in my opinion but much will depend on how fast you get round and the condition when you visit. My new favourite course, just ahead of the Old Course.

a really good test of golf and probably the hardest of the three courses we played. Really enjoyed some of the challenging holes and with the weather being warm the course was drying out making it a little faster. Really enjoy playing that.

Stunning location with excellent facilities. We were affected greatly by terrible weather on the back nine but it failed to detract from the obvious quality.

This was brilliant, we didn’t find it as tight as the north course and maybe we got used to the speed of the greens. Definitely worth playing. The north and south courses use the same facilities, which were excellent.

Fantastic course tight in places with tough greens and some tough water to carry

Well organised on our arrival. Clubhouse and pro-shop good. Didn’t have time to eat after the round, but bar a terrace area excellent. A bit of construction / improvements going on at the driving range area. The whole setup has a little more of a corporate feel rather than a golf club feel. But would definitely return.

This was my favourite course until visiting Dom Pedro Old Course. Played here in 2024. This still comes a very close second and another great experience. The round itself was slow. Had to wait on quite a few holes and because of that only just got off the course giving us little time before our transfer back to the hotel arrived. Hence my overall rating of 4*. I would put it at 4.7* if that was available.

A very nice golf course in good condition. However it had shipped a lot of rain recently and there were muddy patches and restrictions on the buggies (slowing down the golf).

Beautiful Course BUT unbelievably SLOW>>>>>>> Marshalls were out on the course but Goodness knows what they were doing as it was painfully slow. Heading for a 6 HOUR round.....Almost didn't finish in daylight !!! Worse than this, we get off the golf course at 6.20 through to 6.55 only to be told the bar was closing at 7pm so we'd have to hurry up if we wanted a drink??? We called the mini bus guys to ask if they could get there any sooner and they actually thought we were being picked up at 8.30 which would have been no good so we told them not to bother and all got Ubers.her 14 guys paid for Ubers back to the hotel....LOVED the course but the slow round and being forced to stick to the buggy paths took the shine off the experience.

There had been some rough weather and it showed in places. I think for spectacle it was impressive for views, but course design was not quite as good as expected.

It was probably only slow because of the intermittent rain causing putting on and taking off of wet weather gear and the fact that carts were limited to the paths

Great clubhouse, nice food reasonably priced and a brilliant round. The course was in great condition and was challenging but fair. really enjoyed this one

Great to play this fabulous course again. Great test of golf, many greens had false fronts. Really tests all aspects of your golf game. Greens were super. Also the course provides a good variety of golf holes. My son and I absolutely loved it.

Our favourite of the three QdL courses and the most scenic. Terrific condition. We were out early and whizzed around till catching up with a comp that started on the 10th. You can always check with the pro shop before going out - they try to be helpful.

Perfect in beautiful weather

Our second day and another great course to play. A bit hilly and with some blind shots to play, but in great condition and could drive the buggies on most of the fairways.

Course in decent nick as always, but course needs better marshalling given the number of tee times they sell. Too slow!

Very disappointing that they are pushing too many players through the course without maintaing a maximum 28 handicap ... result way too slow a round!! This is a very fun course to play

First time I have played it since the huge amount of trees have been removed and it is a much better course because of it. First class improvements, the condition was excellent and amazingly the pace of play was great 4 hours 15 minutes!!

Amazing golf course. Condition was excellent. Green true and fast. Staff super helpful and whole experience was 5 star. The starter on the first was brilliant and gave us lots of helpful course info. Fantastic clubhouse and food was also very good. Nice practice area but balls are not complementary.

Found the south course very difficult but really enjoyed the course. It's now one of my favourites in the Vilamoura region.

Intention was to have my annual 3 ball away with my sons. on arrival told it would have to be a four ball. to be advised on arrival, not good. However, the chap we played with was very nice and it did not spoil our round - enjoyment.

Wasn't as good as previous years, slightly worn and greensnot as good, practice facilities not great.

Transfers poor had to get taxis can’t fault the course

Started quite early in the morning, so the pace of play was good. Some repair and maintenance ongoing, but didn’t detract. Some lovely and quite demanding holes. That said, I played in a group containing a scratch golfer, who navigated his way around quite comfortably off the gold tees!

Only comment is that I complained in Pro Shop afterwards as the pace was really slow - 4 fourballs held up on same short hole!! Punched the call button from the buggy repeatedly but no investigation ensued.

Another Great course

A major disappointment. We have played Quinta South many times and the conditioning is usually excellent. Sadly on this occasion it was a big let down - greens heavily too dressed (without any prior warning from YGT which we believe was poor). Pins cut in ridiculous positions, and fairways almost bald - barely any grass. There was also a clubhouse renovation going on which, again, wasn’t advised in advance. This was easily the biggest disappointment of the trip.

Tee times too close together so 5 hour round. Marshalls not doing anything about it. A round takes too long and therefore spoils the experience

Quinta south is my joint favourite course with Laranjal. The course was immaculate as always.

Would recommend using a buggy as a bit hilly. It was in good condition . Nice pro shop.

Signing in, getting buggy and first tee experience all excellent. Course in very good condition. Terrace restaurant had a good range of reasonably priced food and drink.

NOT the best in course Europe as publicised by a mile. We could see how it could have been but not anymore !! The green surrounds in particular have been totally neglected and there are plenty of bare areas on the playing surfaces. This is a very expensive course to play and customers deserve better. Buggies not cheap also at €55. Finally, as this is place is mainly focused on making money, there are a lot of groups on the course so don’t expect a smooth unhindered round. Dissapointed

An amazing experience. Will definitely return to this course again next year. Can't give true rating of a cost value as booked as part of a package.

Probably should have played off the silver tees

As an older group we played off forward tees but it was still a very good test of golf and did not feel particularly short. Keeping carts on the paths meant a lot of walking, which took longer, but that was not a problem.

Very nice course.

The round was initially slow due to a slow 4-ball ahead who lost about 2 holes. However the course rangers dealt with it and from the 9th onwards it was fine. Enjoyed the course - our 4-ball is a mix of handicaps ranging from 2 to 23 and we all enjoyed it.

At last a round that was under 5 hours (just!!) but this course should easily be played in under 4 ½ hours. Fab course in very good condition.

A magnificent course with some fantastic views and well designed challenging holes. Not quite as good as Laranjal in our view but still great. The only problem on the day we played was the recent sanding of the greens which made them a little bit variable. We were told that no notice of this had been given to golfers on previous days, which is not good for an expensive course.

Similar to the North course, very pretty, but a bit tired after the season.

Terrific course - well laid out design

Again buggies cart path only, which was difficult to understand as the course was very dry! Fairways excellent and rough playable. Some great holes and very undulating so would have been a testing walk.

Great course and the condition was spot on, tee boxes weren’t far away from the greens so we were able to get round a little quicker. Would absolutely play again.

Great course a real favourite I just wish the first cut was a little bit shorter if your in it it is very penal.

By far the best condition golf course I have every played. Fantastic practice facilities for pre round of golf. Staff were very friendly. Golf course was beautiful in amongst all of the villas.

Course was in good condition not as good as last year. Some maintenance work around the course ongoing but it didn’t effect us that much. 5 and a half hours waiting on every tee ruined it a bit

The pro shop tried to put a random player with us, which I refused. The 4 Buggies included were also a problem but worked out ok in the end.

Top notch course in top condition. Brand new buggies loaded with tech and ice for drinks, washed after every round. Bar and facilities also top notch

Unbelievable condition, virtually every hole was being worked on as we played. Has to be one of the best maintained courses in the world.

We liked this course the best. Average to hard but ok for me (the high handicapper)! Excellent facilities. Just be aware that if they are busy and you are a two ball they will join you with another 2. We were lucky that the starter let us go off as a two which we preferred.

Perfectly manicured but suffers from being in a built up area and very congested due to the volume of golfers playing

Great course would recommend. The only criticism I’ve got about the whole holiday was we paid for private transfers? Transfers was late on three occasions with me having to call yourself once in and companies direct one bus turned up the other one turned up 40 minutes later in my my opinion, it was just not good enough.

My favourite golf course in the world absolutely love the place

First time I had been back for over 14 years and they have made a lot of changes, the main one being thinning out the trees surrounding the course. The wood mulch they have left in their place was difficult to play from but we shouldn't have been in there in the first place. Overall though this was a great experience from beginning to end. As well as the course, which was in tip top condition and has holes with all levels of difficulty, this was also the fastest course, on a slow weekend generally, that we played on. The only hold up was the 8th and as we finally got to the green ourselves it became apparent that a slick green with a tricky pin was what was causing the delay.

Beautiful golf course, facilities were top quality and enjoyed every second of it. Would highly recommend this course for all standards of golfers

A great course that continually asks questions of your game without being too difficult. Well positioned hazards and the umbrella pines need to be considered.

A superb experience back at the South course after the renovation works. The course was well presented and the upgrade works have improved the golf course. Off course the F&B team took good care of us. Only let down for the QDL experience is the driving range.

Disappointing as they said if we use a buggy we had to stay on path at all times. Yet they didn’t have electric trolleys to hire out (said they only had 6 in total) or modern push trolleys only pull trolleys. No chipping practice area for visitors.

We didn’t play this course but had to put ratings down to submit.

Played off the blacks in December which was pushing it. Course condition was still terrific for December. Surroundings were very impressive in terms of expensive villas. Holes were a little samey - hitting into an uphill fairway with a right to left dogleg and a bunker at the corner but still a quality golf course.

All the courses are tough in my opinion but today I had my best ever round in QDL. Its a lovely course and in my opinion the best of the 3. The practice area was busy but thats to be expected. I love the simple touches - i.e. the buggies coming round offering drinks and snacks and the staff happy to serve you.

One of the best in Portugal and was outstanding as normal.

Tee time was late and we were really pushed for time to get round plus lots of people on the course. Consideration should be given to later tee times and whether you can actually play the full 18 rather than potentially finishing in the dark

Very slopey course and not one where you can use a push trolley as I tried to do for the first 9 holes before changing to a buggy. Game improved after that. The rough is very thick and it’s easy to lose your ball. Difficult to play out off as well. Need more electric trolleys.

Delayed tee time. Far to busy and slow. Very commercialised, not overly impressed how we were treated.

Course was very expensive, but range balls and buggies were included, cost of drink etc at course was excessive, course was lovely but the bark between the roughs was very punishing and all golfers struggled to play out of it.

This is an English Mecca. Overpriced. Warm up from the mats. Lots of people running around. tHe most touristy course. Some fun holes and good views.

A great days golfing about 4.5 hours but very enjoyable

QDL simply know how to do golf for groups really well from start to finish. Guedes was outstanding in the way he dealt with it booking on both days.

Amazing views all round the course...luxury golf in a warm weather setting can't be beaten !

It's a difficult course but not as interesting as some of the others as most of the par 4s involve a drive and a very similar club for the second shot. Perhaps by varying the tee positions more variety of second shot would make it more fun.

Course was in good condition. Lots of very nice golf holes in amongst trophy villas. Definitely worth playing. Very hilly - good exercise walking.

this is the jewel of the 3 . Buggies were cart path only for no obvious reason which made the round quite difficult. A flag system permitting elderly folks to access at right angles to the cart path should be introduced.

Quite windy played of the gold tees therefore holes playing long Greens very fast and tricky slopes

An excellent experience: the course was immaculate. Pace of play good (just under 4 hours).

In many respects a more interesting layout than the north course. More undulating than Quinta North or Laranjal with more water to navigate. Fast greens, lots of tree bark under the pines if you miss the fairway. Punishing bunkers.

Love the South course, pace of play great had to wait for buggies but that's because they are busy - perhaps too busy.

Expensive but fantastic

Lovely course, the recent upgrade makes for a great round

Tough rough as newly re grown and they are leaving a bit longer until more mature. A lot of money has been spent on a full refurb and the presentation is 1st class

Clubhouse was inadequately staffed. It was really hot, not once were we visited by the drinks buggy during the 18 holes. This was the first week of the course being opened after the 7m refurbishment. The rough was short and thick and the ball either sat on top of it or sunk to the bottom. A number of the group struggled to get the ball out of it. Buggies are not allowed on the grass to give it a chance to settle. This was not made clear to us prior to arriving at the course, it meant a long walk which was challenging for a couple of the group. The greens were magnificent, not a mark on them, rapid and smooth. Hopefully these are only short term issues which will be resolved quickly. The feedback from our group was that the course had not changed from the previous incarnation.

An interesting course, a bit long for me (age 69, h'cap 14). Greens are fast and tricky. Great condition (Christmas period).

I love this course and s great way to finish our trip to Quinta

We played it twice...started both on back 9 where some of tougher holes. Not sure that is best. We had smaller groups( 2/3 balls) who had started front 9 catch us because of slow play ahead and the Marshall advised not to let them through but was not ideal having players behind waiting and players ahead slow! Didn’t like the bleached grass on fairways.

Amazing golf course on an amazing resort. Loved every minute. Although Your golf travel messed up our tee times with them, so we were double booked (not golf course’s fault). They managed to organise very quickly, ended up playing back 9 first. Highly recommend this course, will definitely be back.

Some of the greens where like putting on glass, probably my favourite course in the region, buggy bar needs to be seen more often on the course !

What an absolute joy. From the courteous staff to the amazing fairways and superb greens. The course was set up beautifully with amazing views.

The South course was newly reopened after annual maintenance. As a result it wasn’t perfect with some aprons and sections of fairways in stages of recovery. The greens were generally fine albeit slower than expected. We played as a two ball every day (3) so wasn’t overly busy. The course is quite challenging and interesting with a devilish par three over water on the back nine especially into a strong breeze !

Regularly play this course and it never lets you down, it’s a good challenge of golf. Great condition as usual, greens were great. The staff friendly and everything is sorted for you.

Marginally prefer to the North course. Some very interesting holes. Good food at clubhouse especially the Caesar salad!

another good round for me; a par 5 at the 2nd & par at the 4rth were the highlights.

Really liked this course with tree lined fairways and signature hole over water. Many holes where you're unaware of other groups to detact from the enjoyment.

Great Course

We enjoyed the course very much. It was in very good condition and the surrounding area was lovely. Overall it was a pleasure to play on it and so we changed the booked round at Laranjal to play it again! The food in the club house was very good as was the overall service of the staff.

Best course of the week.

The course is a good layout and in okay condition with the greens being very good. We are not slow players and had all the warnings from the starter above slow play and how they would act. Took 4 hours and 40 minutes which is pretty slow and no action taken anywhere.

An amazing course and we all agreed we will be back next year to play the North and South we hope. Great set up all round.

QDL South was in excellent condition as usual. Down side was the speed of the round (nearly 5 hours) Quite expensive for what it is but always good to go back. some great holes.
