Very slow round

Hilly quite tight but a fair course for our handicap range (14-26).

A pretty course, some great elevated tees and good level of challenge.

The best course that we played all week the 1st 8 holes were really nice and then it became tougher but acceptable.

This was a much more forgiving Golf course than chaparral Very enjoyable everybody had a lot of fun on this golf course

Great fun course, slightly strange experience at the end as they had over booked buggies so were rushing us off the green. Also wouldn’t give a drinks token to us as we booked 5 people. But if you booked a 2 ball you got a free drinks token. Not sure why that is but seems that if you pay more you get less?

Lovely course with a variety of different holes. Greens and certain parts of the course could use some TLC. This course was the busiest and quite chaotic at times, but again a wonderful golf course.

NOT VERY GOOD IT TOOK 6HRS NOT MARSHALLED VERY VERY SLOW AT LEAST FOR 3 TEES BEHIND EVERY HOLE TRANSFER WOULD OF BEEN MISSED IF WE DIDNT LEAVE THE COURSE ON THE 16TH

We really enjoyed this round, it took us by surprise (not sure why). This club felt more like a members course rather than a resort course. Greens and fairways were immaculate. Do recommend buggies as it’s very hilly. Play was slow as there was a members comp on so it took over 5 hours but there could be worse places to be. Would play it again

We were delayed due to there being no buggies lady when we arrived, the round of golf was the slowest in our lives taking almost 5 hours 45 minutes, we literally had to drive as the third four-ball straight to the coach which had arrived and was awaiting us outside the facility. Santa Maria has gone way down in our estimation. We would not recommend this to any YGT member.

Beautifully kept Course with lots of interesting holes.

1st time playing this course was in excellent condition

Poor signage, too many blind holes, our return transfer was there before our second flight was finished.

Superb course with a wonderful design and a variety of interesting holes. Beautiful views. Club house tired but being refreshed. Service fantastic. Definitely play this course.

One of my favourite courses in previous years, but unfortunately 3 of the holes were on temporary greens to allow for redesign of the actual greens. In addition, 3 of the holes were changed to allow for the same work. Very disappointing and not something we were made aware of before we book.

40min delay on first tee we switched to this course because the course we meant to play had been holotin and this course hadn’t but 3 temps which we agreed to but when arrived there was a 40 minute delay and the course had been holitined and the greens were very slow and bobbing not the best experience and took a lot of complaining from the group so not empresed building work going on at club house and short staffed

Also played here 30 years ago but did not remember it being so hard, still enjoyed it though. Pro shop very helpful.

First course we played, was tight and challenging. Play was slow with some queuing when we got to the 10th hole. Enjoyable course.

Great staff and course I think we caught the greens a bit early in the season a month later and they would have been quick all in all Santa Maria is a good test of golf with good facilities

Most courses in this area are slow, this one was exceptionally slow, 5.5 hours

Teetime was meant to be 12:24 but only got off about 13:24 as they had a competition on. The course was then slow on every hole and took 5.5 hours to get round that the transfer was waiting as soon as we got off. Poor experience

I liked the course but day was spoilt by having 3 of our guys robbed while the carts were out of sight could hear motorbikes around the turn

Great golf course with great facilities let down by the condition of the greens on the back 9 sadly. The course itself was really good though and still enjoyed it.

Good course

Lovely course, but we had heavy rain which made the day harder and not so enjoyable but that was nothing to do with the course.

Nice course with interesting holes , good for mid handicaps

A great golf course again however people were walking off the course after first 9 holes took 3 hours. They seem to be being a little greedy trying to squeeze in tee times every 8 minutes rather than 10 and it makes a huge difference in pace of play compared with the other courses we played. Good course though, worth a visit.

Probably 3*+. Great first day course. Quite tight but lovely warm up.

Very poorly maintained. Needs some investment and TLC. WOuldn't play there again.

Good course in good conditions. It was very slow over first 6 holes but did improve.

Very nice course, with good facilities. A couple of the holes look like they have been remodelled recently and were not in the best condition.

Spectacular views of mountains and sea, great course, lots of elevation up and down ravines, very well maintained and efficient staff. Some tough holes where you have to be straight. Excellent!

Course was in excellent condition, only 1 poor green, they have created 2 new holes which once bedded in will definitely add to the course in terms of making it better However pace of play was a disgrace, 5 Hours 40 for the round is not good enough, we only had 20 mins in clubhouse before pick up at 18.30.

Nice club house and pro shop. Course conditions were poor, lots of damage to fairways and parts GUR. It’s obviously one of the older courses around. Plays short, some drivable par4s also lots of blind dog legs so get a course planner.

Great condition, need to keep the ball in play, open enough to get a way with a few bad shots.

A nice course but a few of the holes were a bit silly and impossible to work out the first time you play them.

A bit scruffy but dramatic course great fun to play condition ok

I have played this course five times over the last fifteen years and always been happy with condition but will not return again. The course was not well kept at all, there was three temporary greens in place and all twelve of our party criticised the playing conditions. It says everything when you arrive 75 minutes before our tee time and advised we can go out when we are ready as no one else was booked to play.

Our favourite course of the week. Stunning. We would like to play the par five 9th again - what a hole. In fact, I'd like to play the course again and again. A tight first few holes, but then it uses the space extremely well. Just a great experience.

Great start to our golf trip.

Another favourite of the group , greens were a bit ropy in places but enjoyed the experience , down side ? 3 groups of 4 golfers were waiting for buggies for 30 minutes , this needs sorting out.

A good course that's enjoyable for any level of golfer.

Enjoyed course but greens under maintenance. The clubhouse was closed so no après golf drinks.

They had changed two holes from when I had played it last, 9th and 10th. The 9th is now a par 5 and the 10th a par 4, however the course has not been remapped and therefore the GPS on my phone app did not give shape or distance to the greens making it a little more interesting to play? Overall a good test of golf and thoroughly enjoyable.

Some changes to the course were confusing, hard to know where you were going at times.

We have played Santa Maria many times, I doubt that we can take the gamble to book it in the future. Fairways and greens were in poor condition. Slowest round of the week, at one point there were sixteen of us on, or waiting, to play the same hole.

Cabbage patch. Shocking condition. 2 of the holes should be closed not a blade of grass on fairways. Again massive investment is required

Good course made 2 changes to 2 holes since last played not improved course

Local course, fully booked, a few difficult holes but overall playable and nice. Clubhouse service slow.

Probably the easiest course we played but course in great condition and the one that all of the group played well on.

One of our favourite golf courses , always made welcome by the staff, course played brilliantly as always ,back next year.

Testing track with a few blind drives, generally in good nick - they are putting a new hole in or changing something which means a silly par 3 and a truncated long 4. Nice enough. Food good

slow round due to groups in front, but overall a very enjoyable course to play

group had played it in previous holiday and that helped. overall good challenging experience for our mixed group of medium to high handicaps

Another favourite with the members , it's just a lovely course , well managed , a must play course.

We teed off just behind the members playing a medal competition. At one point there was twenty (20) of us all playing or waiting to play the second hole.

Favorite course in costa del sol. I am a 12 handicap and a good scoring course always in good condition

Great track for holiday golf - a bit more management of tee times and pace of play would be helpful.

A favorite for everyone , never lets you down ,each year the course seems to get better.

Santa Maria, is okay but very much lower on the quality scale to a lot of other courses. It served us okay on our last day and was chosen as much for location than anything else, being closer to the airport. We would have been disappointed to play this on any other of the days as it lacks any wow factor that you’re looking for on a trip.

Based on the fact that we do like Santa Maria we are maybe a little biased but course in good condition and greens excellant
