The dry dykes are a killer.

The greens had been hollow timed in the past 2-3 weeks which made them quite difficult to play. The course was in good condition other than that. However, I was unimpressed with being told to hurry up by the Marshalls, even though We were keeping up with the group in front. Secondly on the 10th fairway we were told by a member hurry up and play our shots, as he had shanked his drive from the 1st tee onto the 10th fairway as the holes run alongside each other. We only just had clearance to play as the group in front had only cleared the green seconds before. It just soured the taste a little bit.

OK. Improved signage would help a lot. Our first flight was delayed by another group, the caddy master was rude and aggressive towards them, he refused to allow them to play the tenth hole and was not interested as to why they were delayed, very unsatisfactory.

No Sat nav in buggies , no water on course , they will sell you water !!. Course is ok but wouldn’t go back

Being started with a set time to hit the first 9, seemed to be a challenge, as it was our first time and not knowing the course. A little course map would really help. No drinks buggy offered which meant under the heat we all felt tired and drained of energy. We would have purchased in the shop if known. Came back tired and very frustrated. Mid day sun and little water. Very disappointing.

Avoid. Completely spoilt by the aggressive Marshalls. Our 1st group were shouted at on first green despite waiting for it to clear. Marshalls driving and shouting at everyone all day. Despite finishing in just a fraction over 4.25 hours with 4 ball groups of mixed standard players the treatment of customers is completely unacceptable. Take a look at trip advisor if you don’t believe this review. Money best spent elsewhere

The front nine holes of Santa Clara are in short, a joke. It's bomb alley and really badly designed. The greens were in very good condition.

A good course for holiday golf but a bit rough in places. Recent bad weather will not have helped.

Very rude starter who complained that we was holding up the course when he actually let a 4 ball off the 10th in front of us then raced off to stop them

Due to the sudden change of venue a day before we left for our trip I felt that we had been slotted in to an already busy day. I felt that we were being rushed around and forced to move on with clearly no where to go as tees backed up in front and behind. Not a place I’d be rushing back to.

Course wasn't in great condition, lots of construction work going on at the time & very off putting. The marshall rattled a few blokes in our group which meant that they bottled the stableford competition.

A great golf course and wonderful facilities. Our rounds were slow, however, we were a large group so tee'd off in the early afternoon. Will definitely come back.

Pro shop warned us of possible problems with thieves on the course and had even had safe boxes fitted to the buggies for your valuables, there were also free to use lockers outside the pro shop door if you weren't using a buggy. Thieves really do seem to be an issue out here, clients need to be made aware of this.

It's a great course with a nice setup and friendly staff. Course is designed so you have to think your way round certain holes. Also has a good balance of big drives aswell tho. Played it twice and second round Played off the whites much better course and views. Greens aren't great but that might just be me. Back 9 is quality off the back tees. Only downfall is buggies are petrol and there's thieves. Its quite bad so be mindful of your buggy on certain holes. Don't let it put you off tho because that back 9 is something else

Very busy, a bit short but challenging enough.

course was in good condition. greens a little slower than we were used to but in good condition. no bobbling and ran true. hard to read on some holes. clubhouse was nice. it had a new area outside since the last time we went. free glass of cava on arrival was a nice touch. staff couldn’t be more friendly and attentive.

Greens could be a lot better 9th 1st 10th very close together a bit dangerous so u have to be on Ur guard from other golfers be great course

Apart from a couple of holes with greens perched on the top of hills a very good course

Lovely course and location, somewhat spoilt by the starter who seemed to be more interested in constantly returning to the club house entrance in the hope of tips from the returning golfers. Even slowed down our tee-off on the 10th to allow a group of late golfers on the 1st to get going, this really messed up the pace of play for us then and for those following us. I suggest the starter needs some advice in this area.

Slow occasionally, but overall about 4.5 hours for the round

One of the best have played in Spain

This was probably our favourite course of the week. Buggies were included in the price but, again, the greenkeeper insisted that we had to stay on the cart paths due to the rain two days previously. We thought that was unnecessary, but it was what it was. Whilst the course itself had wide fairways and wayward shots weren’t generally penalised, they do need to think about how they set off groups on the first and tenth holes, which have adjacent tees, and fairways separated only by the cart path for the first three hundred metres or so. The starter seemed intent on setting groups off alternately which meant that the group playing the first always seemed to be in range and in danger of being hit by those playing the tenth. It would be much better to have both groups tee off before advancing down the course, but the starter had his own idea. Ah well, we only upset one lady golfer who seemingly didn’t hear the shout of “fore” and, despite the ball not landing too close to her, decided to throw it some distance further into the first fairway rather than back to the tenth. A more senior Marshall did speak to her about her behaviour and asked her to speed up as she was playing her sixth shot on the first hole behind my colleague’s drive off the tenth ;-D The clubhouse was a pleasant place to sit with a view of the ninth green and down the first fairway. We’d definitely come back here.

Greens were ok, patchy in places but still played ok.

Great course, top notch facilities, far too many buggies fighting for position with the Tee's for Hole 1 and 10 alongside each other, chaos! They need to accept fewer bookings to make it a more pleasurable experience, also very slow as a result. Love the place but could have been better this time around.

We have played this course many time before and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately this year the greens are awful plus the starter is always on your case never been treated like this before on this course will not be playing it again.

A good course overall.

Not a bad experience but overall third of the 3 we played.Greens were a bit bashed and seemed over watered to me generally-a lot of boggy patches on are hot day.Not a bad experience and excellent club house-First time ever anywhere in the world in many years I have been asked to put a credit card deposit down in respect of buggies though!Strange-but wouldn't put people of playing it-some interesting holes

Played this course for the second time and it is a fair challenge to the average golfer. Not too many memorable holes and the greens were running slow and had a fair amount of weed growth which wasn't present last year. The bar area is good but a lot of the tables were reserved meaning we had to sit out in the sun which we wanted to avoid after 4.5 hours on the course.

Great value

The course layout is great, lots of different holes to manage but the greens let the course down, lots of weeds and fairway grass getting in the way ??…..apparently a non-member course, well members might have a say about the green conditions ??

This course should have a government health warning we ended up with 9 balls on our fairway when playing the 10th. First four holes are ridiculous. The rest of the course not much better. Couldn’t remember why I hadn’t played it for 20 years. I did after the first three

The bar and restaurant used to be fantastic but since it moved down stairs under new management it is now unwelcomming ,the staff are rude .It is a reason to stop us returning.

Would not play here again till condition of course improves. They also need to improve pace of play. Clubhouse is always good.

Front 9 too close together, but back 9 challenging. French group in front were very slow, until we asked them to speed up !!

Really enjoyable course...interesting and quirky holes!

Santa Clara was disappointing because of the condition and we just played on the day of a very large society day of over 70 people and it was very slow play. My biggest disappointment was the condition of the course from the last time I played it. There is also a lot of new building going on and it was like trying to play on a building site with the amount of noise and dust.

Nice course although a few too many blind holes for my liking. Tee boxes could do with a little tlc but generally in very good condition.

Of the 3 courses we played this was probably in the best condition, however the condition was still very poor. Balls plugging in greens, waterlogged fairways - all this when Marbella hadn’t seen rain for 4 weeks previously. Obviously an aftermath of lockdowns and the required work not been done but we shouldn’t be penalised for that when we’re paying high sums of money to play these courses.

Tee time delayed due to caddy master overallocating buggies in the morning, none were then available on time. This also ruined prep time and it felt rushed. Offer of cheap fizz did not make the situation any better. Pace of play was reasonable and there was a variety of holes but needed a buggy.

Club house staff very unhelpful didn't want us there all else was good

First time playing this course. The staff shop was courteous although the starting official was impatient and rude. They have a photographer on the first hole which didn’t help his demeanour and he chastened us to tee off even though we were 10 minutes early! General course condition was ok but some parts off the fairway were untidy. Not as interesting as Marbella. Bar staff were very friendly.

The staff were somewhat aggressive when accusing us of slow play and not taking into cosideration the fact that we were following a 2 ball!

The course appeared a little tired however was acceptable for general play. The only issue with the course was there are c3-4 holes which cross each other and can be a little dangerous. General feeling from group was there are better courses to play in this area.

Great transfers and great golf

Again, they had hollowtined the greens which made them bumpy and covered with sand. This was really disappointing as it was June and the course was fully booked. Poor greens spoilt an otherwise lovely course.

The groups favourite as it was more forgiving.Staff great and a must to return to.

The course is a little cramped with a number of holes up and down which led to players constantly playing on one another’s fairway. The initial impact is disappointing too, just getting the golf buggy was bit of a chore.

Great course, made to feel very welcome by the staff. Would definitely visit again.

Golf club was excellent and condition of course was superb, however the layout is very poor with too many holes on top of each other. Felt very cramped.

Wide fairways so you can open your shoulders, every green can be reached in regulation so it's down to the putting.

This was our third experience of golfing in Spain. Again very glad to have the buggy! Getting spoilt now with beautiful views and vistas of the area. We were warned prior to teeing off about the threat of thieves on some of the holes, good to see the marshals presence in those areas.

Quite close to Marbella G&CC but less in the hills and hence more forgiving. Again good clubhouse facilities. We were given a magnum of wine to use as a prize. That did not last very long! Great welcome and good facilities.

Played this course twice, everyone very helpful, food at this golf club is excellent and reasonable.

Played here many times and going to start looking to play another one on our next visit. A few holes are spoilt by trees in the middle of the fairways and blind holes and some big run offs even after a good drive.

Beautiful course a pleasure to play on. Just sorry didn’t play both days on this course.

Initial arrival and meet & greet poor as no one to identify where to go. Course warning about theft on holes 11 to 14 a worry, but at least it was transparent. Course wet after recent heavy rainfall. Overall good course and facilities. Good restaurant manager post golf.

Difficult conditions due to the rain which leads to lower overall mark but it is a good course with plenty of challenges and opportunities. I'm sure the course would be in much better condition during spring and summer.

Thought there were a number of "Mickey Mouse " holes particularly the 10th. Doubt whether we will return. Not pleasant staff and the toilets particularly the one experienced by the female members of the group nothing short of disgusting.

Very, very slow. Back 9 is better than the front 9. Some good holes. Over 5 hours with everyone in buggies is not good.

Greens not great and many of the holes far too close together. Very picturesque.

Nice course, bit tatty in places but very forgiving. Starter/marshall is a great character, mad bus feel very welcome and is a real credit to the club.

A nice course with some tricky holes with sloping fairways and tight par 3's. What let this course down was the condition of a lot of the tees, with bare patches and large areas of sand & seed. Greens were soft with some bare areas and a lot of worm casts all over the green making putting difficult.

Great condition and well maintained

Cracking course in great condition some super holes, wonderful par 3's, interesting par 4's and excellent par 5 holes. A course that provides a challenge to all. The food here is also superb as are were all the staff.

Nice course greens and fairways in good condition plenty of variation in elevation with nice water features and some interesting par 3s Would definitely return.

Some tough pin locations. Some of the golfers ahead were really slow and needed marshals to jolly them along.
