A very safe affordable option. Very quiet at this late Autumn so no life about it at all. Staff were all very polite and friendly.

Basic hotel that could do with some TLC. Breakfast was very good, with great selection. Pool was Baltic.

The hotel is in a superb location central to all the bars,and restaurants. The rooms are basic but very clean with a good,shower and air conditioning. We only had breakfast in the hotel but there was a great variety of foods on offer to keep everyone happy.The omlette station was a big hit. The staff were all very helpful in all matters.

When we first arrived we were put into a room on the ground floor by the pool which was noisy, no balcony and not suitable for us. It was not worth the money we were paying. We asked to change and the staff were very helpful in changing our room. For parking it would have been good to know that we wouldn’t have a guaranteed parking space but we were okay.

Thought the hotel was looking tired. Quality of coffee was particularly poor and breakfast average except the omelette options. Bar was also disappointing as a facility, choice and service.

The hotel is tired and the rooms were very small. The breakfast was at best average! Hot breakfast was very poor! Overall not bad but only just acceptable even for a bunch of golfing guys. I wouldn’t stay their out of choice.

Hotel was tired, and on three occasions we came back from golf in the room have not been made. On the occasion the room had been made they had left as no towels. Reception staff looked as though there were being held against their will and one particular Male reception staff member was quite rude when asked about the shuttle to the golf course. Location of hotel good for breakfast very average to the point we ate at a local café. Certainly would not go back there again.

Good hotel. Ideal location next to the marina. Beds in a twin room are very close together. Ideal place for a golfing trip. Shuttle buses to course were on time and very accommodating.

I had upgraded my room to a junior suite prior to travel as I was due to be staying for 11 days and wanted an area to relax. Although they accepted the upgrade and charged heavily for it, it turned out that their idea of a junior suite is two bedrooms and a bathroom. The room had a small table and two uncomfortable dining style chairs squeezed into one of the bedrooms. Why they thought I, as a single occupant, would need two bedrooms is a mystery. They moved me to Vila Gale Ampalius but I think that I lost on the deal. My fellow travellers reported that there rooms were in poor condition and the ac was not working in either room

Villa Gale Marina is perfectly located within a short walk to the marina and numerous bars and restaurants. The check-in experience was ok. Rooms are comfortable but would benefit from having tea and coffee available. A decent choice of items for breakfast but not impressed with the coffee

Hotel was as good a gold but the room had very unbearable smell coming out the bathrooms drains , both our rooms had that and and not really good ventilation as every morning we worked up with steamed windows from the top to bottom We kept the bathroom door closed but every time cleaning service came they left the door open for the whole day and every time we got back to the room in the evening we needed to open the balcony door to fresh our rooms

The hotel itself is very very good. A big hotel located in about the most perfect place it could be, right next to the Marina. The marina is full of bars and restaurants, some with fantastic entertainment. Anything from bands to karaoke with great indoor and outdoor areas. The restaurant is a good size with quality equipment though I would say quality of breakfast food is average. The biggest problem was originally 8 of us were going and we added one. it seems 4 standard rooms were originally booked. The extra person added a bit later had to pay more than the rest of us, I understand more admin etc but all the hotel did was put another bed in one of the standard rooms. To get in the room you go down a sort of corridor (past the bathroom) to get into the main part of the room and a small bed was put in that corridor. We tried to get the hotel put the extra person in a single room but asked silly money to do it. The hotel was not full so seemed this would have been an easy solution. A real shame because everything else about the trip was brilliant.

Not a bad hotel, great position for Vilamoura marina, although the area feels a lot rougher than last time we visited, lots of prostitutes, people offering you drugs 24/7 and one guy had his watch stolen right outside the hotel. maybe its the area in general but you wouldnt walk around there at night alone

We had one sea view room booked, which required a pair of binoculars to see the sea (photo available upon request). The staff just smiled when queried. A waste of the additional £150 paid.

I think it’s difficult to rate this as the facilities are good and do the job. The hotel itself is “tired” and the decor and general demeanour is set in the 80s. The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean, staff friendly and the location excellent for the marina and bars.

The Vila Gale Marina proved to be an ideal place to stay for our golf trip. The location is perfect for access to the impressive marina with it's array of restaurants and bars. The friendly staff were very efficient in ordering our transport to the local golf courses. It would have been nice if the swimming pool was heated but not the end of the world. A definite improvement would be the addition of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Overall I would have no qualms staying in this hotel again

Couldn’t recommend booking with your golf travel enough everything about our holiday was amazing and would definitely be using this company again! We played the two Vale do Lobo courses which were in prestige conditions and loads of places to eat out and drink in the evening at Vilamoura…Thanks very much to Scott Boarer for booking everything and providing us with multiple quotes for different courses and to get us the best holiday for our money!

Perfect hotel for a golf trip, basic, but great value. Clean and close to amenities.

Perfect location and very reasonably priced for drinks. My downsides breakfast was average and when leaving they informed us the little bottles of water in the room are not free then charged us.

The location of the hotel in the marina itself is excellent and the value for money is also good. The room was comfortable but walls were thin. Main problem was the general quality of the food at breakfast and the coffee was nearly undrinkable. They should look at their suppliers and think about getting better quality in. Saying that the hotel was full of golfers and busy, so they probably don't see the need.

We phoned the hotel and asked for ground floor rooms and when we checked in they gave us the rooms we asked for. Very happy.

Good hotel, excellent location and am glad I stayed. Breakfast was a little average (same each day and things like the scrambled eggs being watered down isn't ideal). Hotel staff were helpful but I did leave a relatively large item in my room, checked out. Came back later and it hadn't been handed in by the cleaning staff which was disappointing (particularly as it had no resale value anyway). The location and convenience made up for the above though.

The hotel was perfectly situated in terms of access to Restuarant’s and bars around the marina. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The only thing that wasn’t as we would have accepted was the hotel food in the evening as we chose to eat in hotel one evening but changed our minds on seeing the selection of meals on offer.

Location was perfect, you were only able to book transfers to the resorts 1.5hrs before tee time and all members of transfer had to be there and transfers took up to 1hr to arrive so this was frustrating, sitting in reception waiting for transfer. Room I stayed in had no balcony which was disappointing.

Only slight problem was the spa at this hotel was very poor. Steam room was advertised but wasn’t working. Jacuzzi had no button to turn it on! But overall the hotel is good and has what you need for golfers.

Hotel is clean and in a great location for marina and golf courses. Room was a bit on the small side and the WC was constantly filling with water despite being flushed several times. Breakfast was same everyday, selection of tinned fruits, toast, bread rolls, cheese and ham, plus hot bacon, tomatoes and eggs. freshly made omelettes were the star of the breakfast table. poor quality machine coffee. Staff were very pleasant. Wouldnt class as a 4*, maybe a good 3.

Great hotel for a base when you do a golf trip. Big pool area. Rooms okay. Bar area was really just a corner of the foyer, but hotel is really close the marina with a great choice of bars and restaurants

Room very small especially with two sets of golf clubs. Asked for larger room but €45 a night extra. Pity we weren't in Vila Gale Ampalius as originally booked and paid for.

Our Hotel was very good, staff very efficient, location was perfect, rooms were good and comfortable.

The room was clean, tidy and well equipped but a little on the small side for two sharing together with golf equipment but more than adequate.

Pillows on the bed are large and too firm and the mattress was quite hard. The bar lacks atmosphere and some of the staff were not that friendly. Overall though a great value hotel in a great location.

I cannot really complain about much in truth as the only issue I came across was that one of the receptionist gave me the wrong pick up time for our return flight back to Faro Airport. Luckily enough I double checked and spoke to another receptionist prior to going to bed on the last evening and I was then given the correct pick up time

Great to have 4 Rooms on 1st Floor over looking Pool area. Very friendly Staff, very clean everywhere. Covid Safe Twin rooms sufficient for our needs.

Needs upgrading

The hotel is very tired and generally in need of refurbishment. Staff were generally very overworked mainly due to the covid situation, they tried very hard to accomodate all needs but you could see they were quite stressed most of the time. The rooms were ok, but the Air conditioning was loud and rattled when switched on.

Staff were fabulous and could not have been more helpful. Location perfect. Only negative comment was the breakfast experience which was amongst the worst I have had. Very poor quality food, congested even though you had to prebook a time and lots of staff running around but not doing anything. We were a 10 am slot and couldn’t get any tea or coffee as machines all empty, no fruit juice for same reason and the queue for an omelette was 30 mins as only one person on duty and approx 20 people waiting at any time. We paid for our breakfast at the golf club on day 2

Lovely clean hotel in an ideal location

Second time visiting. Good 5 night stay for 10 golfers. Rooms are quite basic. Had 2 triple rooms and 2 doubles but triples were just doubles with a very small bed delivered after checking in, so not much room in there. Breakfast is good with lots to choose from. Overall another good stay.

Although the stay at the hotel was good, the receptionist had ordered us a taxi to the airport which should of been free with the airport transfers i had PAID for and charged €58 for this. Unacceptable

Hotel was fine for what we wanted . Great views over the marina . 2 minute walk to the marina. Room was fairly small with very limited wardrobe and drawer space . Breakfast was ok.

This was a 4 star hotel years ago but is now a 2 star. Breakfast was woefull. Rooms are Run down. Had a problem when we arrived with 3 people in a twin room .Will not be back.

The hotel was in a good place for the golf and outside restaurants. The rooms need a lot of TLC, The shower was a hose with a shower head put onto the wall. complete waste of time. Breakfast, there is nothing good I can say about it. We ended up having breakfast at a café in the harbour.

This hotel is in the perfect location for Vilamoura marina and all the bars and restaurants. clean and tidy and staff look after you.

Thank you for your great organisation for our Vilamoura trip on 19th May. It suited us perfectly. 

We played the Oceanico Laguna, Millenium and Pinhal courses and all were in good condition with  Pinhal being by far the best. We enjoyed great hospitality at both Laguna & Millenium clubhouse. It’s a pity Pinhal don't have a balcony overlooking the course in the sun though!

The Vila Gale Marina hotel is excellent value for money. It’s very clean, there’s a great buffet breakfast selection and we ate there one evening and food was very good. Rooms were comfortable and were available to us well before the normal check-in time which was a sign of great service.

Vilamoura itself is the ideal hotel location for a golf holiday in the Algarve. We were able to walk into the town for dinner in the evening where there’s an abundance of good Portuguese restaurants delivering tasty, well priced food.

Our overall verdict would be 8 out of 10 and we would definitely re-visit.

We had yet another great Vilamoura golf holiday, seamlessly organised by YGT.

We played three of the Oceanico courses: Pinhal, Laguna and Millennium. The greens were a bit spongy on Pinhal but the other courses were great for a group of mid-handicappers.

The Vila Gale Marina was spot on. The hotel facitilites and food were great and golf transfers were all spot on. We enjoyed some great weather and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within five minutes of the hotel.

We had a really good trip!

A quick note to thank you for organising what was a fantastic trip last week. The level of service all the way through from your golf travel, to the fantastic Vila Gale Marina Hotel, and all 3 golf courses was superb. The drivers never let us down either and were second to none so we’ll definitely be booking again next year.
